INTRODUCTION
Information and communication technology is widely being used by the organisations for
meeting their operational and functional needs. The various technological issues can have
adverse impact on business and thus suitable arguments must be presented to analyse their
impact and appropriate solution.
ARGUMENT
Long, (2018) states that information technology (IT) is widely used by the companies to
ensure the quality of their services and product. The technological assistance in business
operations provides better monitoring, strategic management and implementation. Thus it is
very essential that each organisation must have separate department for IT so that the technology
can be used to enhance benefits and associated risk can be eliminated.
In the supporting context Pan & Seow, (2016) elucidated that with technology companies
are required to emphasis and improve the specific area of business accounting. The organisations
are providing their services globally or on huge scale. Thus manual accounting procedures are
not feasible and effective. The technological solutions such as statistical software's, digital
payment and accounting must be involved in business. For this purpose the accountants must be
trained so that they can improve their data mining and IT investigation skills. These skills are
necessary to achieve desired profitability goals and to estimate the business success and
operations.
Contrary to this Luftman, Lyytinen & Zvi, (2017) argued that mere training and
adaptation of IT may not help business in achieving success. Instead it is require t hat
technological up gradation must be in alignment with the business. For instance the type of
information technology, devices and their extent of use may vary from one type of business to
other. The negligence of this aspect can result in additional and unnecessary cost burden and
technology related privacy threats which is not good for long term success.
According to Roztocki & Weistroffer, (2015) security and maintenance are the primary
concerns associated with the information technology. If businesses are not capable to manage
these issues then it can impose a serious threat for the organisations. It can make them vulnerable
to competitive threats as well as data security breaches which can cause legal implications as
well. Thus it is recommended that organisations must understand the importance of information
technology but its related issues must not be neglected.

As per the view of Nambisan, (2017) existing business models entirely depends upon
digital technology. Thus it is essential for entrepreneurs to identify and explore the new digital
technologies for making their ventures successful. In current scenario of global business
environment the lack of effective digital technologies make business operations less productive
and less impactful in terms of gaining competitive advantage.
CONCLUSION
It can be concluded from the above discussion that is need for businesses to adopt
appropriate training and implementation programs for the technical education and improvement.
It will help companies to enhance their profitability and opportunities of growth in global
market. It can also be concluded that technology is an integral part of the business and related
issues must be addressed at the earliest to sustain operational efficiency.
