AI Summary
This report delves into the considerations and measures necessary for effective IT project closure, highlighting the importance of lessons learned meetings in evaluating project outcomes. It addresses risk mitigation, particularly concerning hardware compatibility and budget constraints, and emphasizes the significance of proper system maintenance and upgrades. The report underscores the collaborative nature of evaluating project experiences, both positive and negative, to inform future projects. It also acknowledges the evolving landscape of technology and the need to view technological advancements as opportunities for improving project closure processes. The case study of ABC Pvt. Ltd.'s enterprise resource planning system is used as an example to illustrate these points.

1CONSIDERATION FOR IT PROJECT CLOSURE
Consideration and Measures
The IT project closure in the given project shows that there were some instances where
the strategies had not been implemented. However, it was project was on a verge to fail if proper
measures and strategies had not been taken. The lessons learned meeting is a major consideration
for this project as it helps to learn during the project development and what are the things that
has proved to be success and failure (Marcelino-Sádaba et al., 2014). The lessons learned
meeting is essential as it has to deal with projects of several kinds and each project should be
learned so that in next project similar case does not happens. The risks are a generally bound to
happen in any project if it is done for first time. The risks in this project closure were
compatibility issues of hardware and allocated budget. These risks were however mitigated with
proper upgraded systems and extra work efforts from some staff which helped the project to end
on time. The lessons learned meeting is considered as a useful method to evaluate the project
closure in terms of positive and negative outcome during and after the completion of project.
The lessons learned meeting helped to evaluate the project closure in several ways. The
meeting is held to evaluate the overall project completion and each phase of the project. The
meeting proposes the staff and upper management’s concerns and experiences during the project
whether negative or positive (Bowers & Khorakian, 2014). This helps to analyze the issues and
how it can be help to mitigate the risks if happened in future again. This is a collaborative way of
meeting where all the staff are allowed to discuss the project experiences. The other way is when
staff can individually propose examples of their experience during the project by giving draft.
This helps to get a more accurate depiction of the scenario where the experience was whether in
a positive way or negative way.
The measures taken during the remaining weeks of the course to ensure effective project
closure will help in various ways. The project closure will be effective and efficient that will be
used for future (Kerzner & Kerzner, 2017). The project closure was effective due to the efforts
made for project closure through measures taken such as proper implementation of software and
hardware with its upgrade along with staff efforts. The managing and maintenance of
information systems are necessary for project closure as it helps to minimize the risks of any
failures at project closure (Sarkar & Locatelli, 2018). The measure will not only ensure effective
project closure but also take into account future requirement for enhancing project closure in
future. The project was developed and closed with an experience that technologies can be very
influential in developing project. The technologies varies with time and so its importance.
Therefore, the technologies which are used today for the project may not be used in future
however, it is necessary to view this as an opportunity to improve project closure in future.
