Introduction:
Stakeholders are the group of person who gains or losses from the result of any
project or programme or from a well-planned process. They mainly deal with the business
performance as well as ensures that the performance will remain at the acceptable level.
Stakeholder does not perform any operation in the organization management yet he or she
influence a lot in the organizational management. The report mainly focuses on the influence
of stakeholders in the project outcome. The report briefly describes about the failure of
Minnesota IT project and Stockholder’s influence on the business
Minnesota IT project:
Many projects fail because of shifting requirements, poor communication, inattentive
management, lousy business, poor decisions (Krigsman, 2019). HealthMatch was the
automated process implemented to go with residents of Minnesota by well health programs
but the eligibility rules of 16,000 force the project to become a failure. The main reasons of
such kind of failure are (Shahi et al., 2014):
The DHS received was free. The vendors refuse to assign the project with Fox
Systems soon after HealthMatch began the contract.
The decision taken for recommendation to use the @Vantage rules in assessing the
continuation options was unanimous. The recommendation carried high risks
regarding the @Vintage systems.
The staffing and the position descriptions of HealthMatch were inadequate or fail to
meet the requirements of the business and their timelines.

Stakeholder should not be ignored by any organization because it can cost in huge
amount for the organization as it impacts the project in a negative manner such as delivery
delays (Lawrence and Weber, 2014). Some of the Stake holders influence are (Evans et al.,

fast decision making, management, investing, Social and environmental operations.
Conclusions:
Therefore, from the report it can be concluded that every organization and project
should have positive stakeholders who can develop the business effectively and efficiently.
An IT project failure of Minnesota HealthMatch was a great example of a project which had a
negative feedback due to some organizational issues. The Stakeholder’s influence in every
business leads to output a fruitful outcome which helps to develop the business or can give a
positive feedback to the project. Stakeholders play a crucial role in an organization.
