One of the biggest IT-related industry issues is the ability to hire and retain qualified
staff and update the knowledge and skills of existing staff. In the industry of technology, web
technicians, engineers, or whatever your title may be like to call the whole sequence of
growth and learning new standards and procedures is equivalent to a “wildfire” because of
technological advancements (Mishra et al. p.29). For example, in a company I am currently
working for, it’s challenging to constantly adapt to on-boarding and off-boarding new clients
around the world while also being able to maintain the industry standard of knowledge on
procedures for the company’s current staffing.
Technology optimization in a company when collaborating with other academic
leadership to teach and learn the appropriate level of technology to use within a company is
also relevant to the first issue at hand when trying to keep your staff up to date on the new
standard procedures involved in services provided by your company. In this meaning
companies such as mine, for example, we utilize and specialize in the servicing through
Amazon Web Services (AWS) and in doing so our staff becomes specialized in the aspects of
infrastructure and network management while being able to provide the highest level of
security to our fortune 500 clients globally. The new standard coming into motion for many
of our clients is having to utilize AWS with the fluctuation of Azure in the monitoring and
troubleshooting their new specific systems. So, in the sense of a specialized company
working specifically through AWS and other 3rd party services we are now as Engineers to
adapt on the fly and make the time available to specialize into a whole new system.
Finally, the biggest issue pertaining to the industry of Information Technology,
Computer Science, or even Network Operational Engineering is the simple development of
IT funding models that sustain core service, support innovation, and facilitate growth. All
three of this models pertain to the three biggest models of succession in the industry of
Information Technology and without all 3 of them, your growth of the company will falter
and will stagnate from growing or ever potentially become successful (Senft et al. p.65). The

understanding of developing a funding model for the services, education or your staff, and the
facility to include the hardware the staff use are the foundation of treading the water or
keeping you in front of the “wildfire” as we previously mentioned to prevent you from
becoming engulfed in flames or burned. With the true understanding and the management of
time to educate your staff, facilitate and equip them with the tools to success, there will be
ultimately nothing that can stand in the way of a company from ultimately becoming
successful and achieving a fortune 500 status globally (Senft et al. p.65).
