INTRODUCTION
I. T. is explained as use of computers in the business firm for collecting, storing,
processing and transferring information data of Company. this report is on Tesco PLC that is one
of the biggest retail store in UK. Tesco PLC was founded in year 1919 by Jack Cohan. The
Headquarter of the Tesco PLC is Hackney, London United Kingdom. The role of the I. T. will be
evaluated for the success or failure of retail sector company in global and local market. All social
issues and Ethical factors of I. T. will be analysed for the business retail firm. Various type of
Networking Technologies that are used in Tesco PLC will be studied in the report. The
importance of internet and intranet will be studied in report. Different steps that are used in the
process of implementing any information system in Company will be studied in study.
LITERATURE REVIEW
I. T. in Success and Failure of Retail firm
I. T. is considered as revolution in the business sector. There are various advantages of
information for the retail sector around the world. There are different advantages and
disadvantage of I. T. in Company. The role of I. T. is important for retail firm like Tesco PLC.
As per the view of Lloyd, (2020) there is important role of I. T. in the success of retail sector.
There are many technologies can be implemented by the retail sector Company to gain higher
productivity in market place. These technologies can be utilised by the retail firm to develop
various services that can help the retail firm to perform various actions with high effectiveness.
There I. T. have that can improvise the success rate of Company.re some advantages like
accuracy, high speed and less number of errors in the business operation can improvise the
success rate of retail firm in market place. This are crucial factors that lead the success of retail
firm in market place.
According to Baller, Dutta and Lanvin, (2016) there are some disadvantages of
technology that can affect the success rate of the Company in local and international market. For
the retail sector retail firm customer are most important. This is also important for company to
maintain effective relationship with customer in market place. There are some challenges are
lead by I. T. that can affect the success of retail firm in market place. Some of the major factors

There are different social issues and ethical issues are connected with the retail sector

of Company along with customer of retail Sector Company. Some of major ethical issues related
to the I. T. are- personal privacy, patents, copyrights, trade secrets and liability. These are critical
issues that are faced by the retail sector retail firm with I. T.. All the issues regarding I. T. in the
business retail firm related to the data and information security. Information can misused by
Company or hackers through the hacking and data breaches. This is how some ethical challenges

As per the view of Theis and Wong, (2017) there are some challenges are also faced by

firm. This factors can affect the business and internal operation of Tesco PLC in market place.

There are different social issues and ethical issues are connected with the use of I. T. in
