INTRODUCTION
Software provides an easy mechanism to perform various task and saves time and demand .
With the emergence of new technology and innovation, demand of information technology
found its place in increasing the productivity and growth of business. Software plays significant
role in managing operational activities of business and trade. It is required for industrial
evolution and creating new business models. It promotes growth and development of an
economy where business are using software to adapt innovation and upgraded equipments
(Cusumano, 2019). The software are used in every aspects of business includes operational
function, accounting cost, marketing of products and administration of human resources, all
requires to reach best tech solution for the business. It helps in proper functioning of business
system, avoid manual work and make setup efficient in just one click. In this report, we will
examine the role of IT and how it helps in functioning of business strategy and its importance in
business sector.

Business software plays a key role in efficient running of business, make easy task, generate
profit , save time, money and reduce the manual staff. These software are used depending upon
the nature and size of business. There are various software in the market used to run the
business are as follows:
Word Processing Software : It is used to allow its users to manipulate and text to promote
new product. It provides many tools for creating and printing the documents.
Billing Software: The billing software helps to make easy processing of invoice ,
calculation of taxes, payments etc. It reduce manual work and help to provide fast
payment system.
Asset Management Software: It helps the business to manage and track the asset and
liabilities and improve the efficiency of management.
It helps in marketing of the products and increase productivity and efficiency of industry
(Rangel-Padilla, 2021). Earlier, when software and application was not existed, it was very
difficult to manage and promoting the quality of work is almost impossible. But, with the

advancement of new technology and increase in demand of upgraded software, business starts
achieving growth in the competitive market. Morrison is well known brand in the UK , the
reason behind its growth and efficiency is, its advanced technology and upgraded software which
helps them to evaluate business system. Morrison is known for its world class retailing system
and this is the actual reason for profitable growth the UK market. Morrison's has purchased
many application related to decision making attract stakeholders. They also digitalize the
supermarket system to boost up the efficiency of business. By adopting the technology
advancement and innovation in retailing sector helps them to identify new market and
consumer demand. The global emergence of new technology describes the demand factor,
consumer preferences, standard product, promotion of goods , all of them are possible with the
use of new software. Many businesses in the UK, are used advanced software that helps them to
increase efficiency and profitability of the product. This is the biggest drawbacks of these
software that they are changed over time and only those business or trade still exist in the
market who adopted the upgraded technology and taken it as an opportunity to grow in the
market are only survived (Miljanic and Zaric, 2020). These software are govern by copyright
legislation from piracy but many instances, these software faces the issue of piracy and hacking
so, there are many provisions are being provided under the UK law to protect the Intellectual
Property Rights. The growth of an industry is depends upon promoting strategy, modification in
plans , financial soundness, potential customer helps them in extensive growth of an industry.
Good business invest their money in purchasing new software to update their online application
facility resulted in positive outcome (Gajdzik, 2022). Technology boosts new opportunities and
helps to identify the future threats that may affect the functioning of the business. Retailing
industry in the United Kingdom undergoes with rapid transformation because of several factors
like change in legal policies, regulatory procedure , geographic indication etc. Thus, many
supermarket business in the UK applied adequate measures for small, medium and large
enterprises to ensure them correct way to optimize growth and digitalise the mode of product.
Technology is most important factor to modernise the workplace and other activities related to
day to day operation of a business. IT reduces heavy workload, reduce workforce,increase
accuracy and reliability, avoid human errors.

gradation in technology brings new scientific benefits to the humans and provide several benefits to run
the business. These ethical and social issues are equally important for business running because to secure
the general interest of the employees in the company. Now, many new programmes and policy has been
made to modernise the concept of the ethical issues. These programmes helps to makes effective and
transparent the productivity growth. It is believed that the ethical use of technology promotes tech savvy.
Morrison's digitalise all its activity for smooth functioning and minimize excessive expenditure arises due
to manual work (Bajwa, 2020). The ethical and social use of digitalise sources is required to promote
new business model and impact the business environment and community. This is the biggest challenges
examined in the digital world includes exposure of personal life, communication style, change in the
working system and culture etc., are immensely affect the functioning of the business. The digital world
is the demand of today's generation and businesses are expected to ethical use those technology without
any interference of illegal means. There are many challenges faced by the digital world includes:

value and market preference. The digital world helps to make choices among the available
sources.
Legal and regulatory consequences: The ethical and social life of digital world is uncertain
because it is very difficult to analyse the individual's mind so regulatory bodies helps to protect
from unfair acts.
Difficulty in making decision: It is not easy to trust the digital world and that makes difficulty in
making the decision .
So, it is very important to ensure the social and ethical issues that promotes consumer's trust and believe
towards the digital world to strategies the market and faith in the technology remain to be protected. The

business. Unethical behaviour may cause risk for an organisation and affects the core functioning of the
business (Ursu, 2019). Social behaviour is necessary to maintain the positive relationship between the

business: Improved Company Communication: Information Technology perform the role of
improvement in the communication of entire organisation. In order to bring the
effectiveness in the communication, the managers of Morrisons are being using several
technologies which include conferencing software, video chat, E-mail and many more.
The use of these technology facilitates the managers in arranging the meeting with their
employees and other customers as well (Khalaf and et. al., 2020). It help the management
of Morrisons in saving the time along with the money which the organisation will going
to be waste on travelling because it make possible to do the meeting with the employees
even working in the other country. It helps the managers of Morrisons to manage the
functions related to the communication with the customers or employees. Better Customers Experience: Through the use of Information Technology, the
managers of business organisations are able to provide the better services to their
customers which also result in the better customer experience. The managers of
Morrisons are being using Information Technology through the use of e-commerce

more (Salehan, Kim and Lee, 2018). It is necessary for the manager of Morrisons to
know about all these informations while making decisions related to the supply, new
product, material order and many more. Inventory Management: The Morrisons is a supermarket company which deals with the
items of grocery. The managers of Morrisons are required to keep an eye on the stock in
order to fulfil the requirements of customers without any delay. The inventory
management system of It helps the managers of Morrisons in identifying the quantity of
each product of firm along with maintaining a proper record and list of additional stock
by managing the inventory. It is found as essential for the managers of Morrisons
because they are responsible for maintaining the enough amount of stock for the purpose
of meeting the needs of customers. Through the use of Information Technology in
inventory management , the managers can maintain the stock and triggering while
managing inventory. Customer Relationship Management: It has been analysed that several of business
organisations are using Information Technology for the purpose of bringing improvement
in the relationship of organisation with their customers. In order to gain the more
experience, the managers of Morrisons are using Customer Relationship Management
(Reyes-Mercado, 2018). It allows the customers to make the call to the centre directly in
the case, if they face any issue. The customer relationship manager have right to see all
the shopping related information of their customers.

organisation can be described as bringing improvement in the efficiency in the
operations, so that it result in the completion of tasks in the time and cost saving manner.

Morrisons which include asset management software, billing software and word processing
software. The use of Information Technology in a business organisation also bring several social
and ethical issues. Information and Communication technology has also its importance in the

Internet both helps the management in reaching at the desired place. In addition to this, it has
been also analysed that the Information Technology helps the managers in managing the
