This essay is based on describing a trending development in the field of Information
Technology (IT) while assessing how this can be demonstrated to an online learner from a
faculty perspective. In this context, the chosen trending development in IT is learning through
Artificial Intelligence (AI) (Forbes, 2017).
Today, in the field of eLearning, online learners are getting benefitted from AI
applications as AI is getting used to anticipate online learner’s behaviour (Forbes, 2017).
Thus, through AI assistance eLearning can be personalized for online learners. In this
context, from a faculty member perspective, online learning is leveraged and improved with
the help of better personalization (Forbes, 2017). It is because eLearning through IT is using
information related to modules taken by the online learners and hence the challenges faced
are assessed in order to address while offering personalized learning to them. In addition to
that, IT-based online learning takes place with the help of voice-guided bots as these help
online learners for searching for key content within attended modules. In this context, an
example can be seen with an intelligent Chabot that can effectively act as a support for
technical queries and challenges faced by modern online learners (eLearning Industry, 2018).
In whole, this discussion is indicating that online learners should always use different
eLearning methods such as adaptive learning, AI assistance, video learning, game-based
learning, micro learning, and many more. Thus, online learning through AI-based
technologies such as virtual reality as well as augmented reality is trending in this era for
enhanced learning and growth.
