Introduction
In order to provide a summary of assessment third of the overall task of the assignment, this is
based on the analysis of the interfaces which need to be performed by multiple teams. This
particular report will help in understanding the different techniques, the principle of heuristic as
well as the task distribution that is on the online booking of tickets in the cinema hall. The name
of the cinema hall is XYZ cinema and the evaluation is performed so as to build an
understanding of the interface design.

Evaluation of the Interface design
(a) Interface Design evaluation
The design that evaluated is based on the online cinema application that allows the users to book
the tickets online by selecting their suitable seats. The interface has many different features of
car parking, printing tickets, displaying all the movies that are available and many more. So the
interface on the cinema application was designed by multiple teams so by evaluating the design
there are many flaws that are encountered by team members which help in improvisation of the
interface (Thomas, et al., (2017)).
(b) Heuristics that are used in supporting the evaluation
The evaluations and the flaws that are pointed out were totally based on the principles that are
termed as heuristics and are created by Jakob Neilsen in the year of ’90s. These heuristics
principle provide great help in finding the mistakes in the interface design and recommendations
for the improvisations are given in this particular report which is according to the usability of
heuristic as well as design principle which is related to interface designing (Fisk, et al., (2018)).
(c) Issues encountered in the interface design according to the heuristics
The issues that are encountered according to the heuristics are discussed in this particular topic.
Here the discussion on the problem and the rectification is provided. The issues are
subcategorized and are listed below:
Visibility of the status of system page appropriately
Issues encountered are:
There is no footer as well as the back arrow button on the main page of the
application.
There is a lot of space getting waste on the print ticket page more features can be
added by minimizing the space of the button “print”.
Issue identified by Mubeen Khan. These issues can reduce the quality of the interface
design. The above issues are moderate according to the usability of the cinema
application.

This can be resolved by reducing the size of the elements or components attached to it
and more features can get add (Urbieta, et al., (2018)).
Similarity with the real world
The ticket printing page is not understandable for the first time user. This issue is
problematic as the design has no linking with this page and it will be difficult for
the user to get the purpose of the screen. This issue is encountered by Mubeen
Khan. The problem can be resolved by the linking of the screen with the footer or
on the menu page.
Control and freedom to users
There are no breadcrumbs available for jumping directly on different screens and
this issue is also identified by Mubeen Khan.
This issue is a major problem to the user as if the user mistakenly reaches to the
other page on which he wishes not to, and then there can be a long process to
reach the required screen.
The problem can be rectified by adding the breadcrumbs on every page of the
application.
Alert boxes to prevent from errors
There is an absence of the alert boxes or the pop-up messages as if the user
mistakenly confirms the seats or payment then this can be a problem to the user.
This problem is huge and needs to be resolved by providing alert messages for the
users. This is identified by Mubeen Khan.
Recognize the features in previous screens
On the menu of the movie screen, there is no scrollbar, the user will not able to
see more options of the movies in the absence of the scroll bar. This issue will not
provide the proper functioning of the application. In order to resolve this,
scrollbar needs to be added.
Visual Interface design
The screen finds theatre and payment page are not following this principle. The
name of the screen is payment but it is printing the ticket so it is not
and more features can get add (Urbieta, et al., (2018)).

Visual Interface design
The screen finds theatre and payment page are not following this principle. The
name of the screen is payment but it is printing the ticket so it is not

understandable. This can lead to confusion for the user. Need to be resolved by
changing the name and making the screen more visualized and attractive.
Flexibility and efficiency
There are screens like finding theatre, car park and payment are not flexible and
do not play the principle of flexibility. This is identified by Mubeen khan and it is
a minor issue but should be improvised by adding more flexibility and features.
Users are facilitated in the way for recognition, diagnostic as well as get error free
Talking about the page used for the payment as well as from logging in, no pop-
up is being provided if there are any wrong credentials added.
This identification is being done with the help of Mubeen Khan. One drawback
that is also found is that no notification is pop up when any of the users enters the
wrong password such issue is found in mock-up. A lot of different large problem
are shown in the mockup that is to be rectified while the evaluation process. All
those forms that are created or made have to use various displays for the error
occurring in any of the users put or enter incorrect credentials.
Helps with the documentation
No links as well as the pages are being provided in order to give instructions or
any help to the users. Also, various policies needed to be explained properly. The
pages shown such as upcoming movies and login page are not provided with any
instruction for the facility of the user. The shortage of instructions in order to
provide the help to the user can create problems. The issue is moderate and can be
resolved by adding more number of instructions so as to provide proper
understanding for the users.
(d) The strategy used by the team
The strategy that the team used consists of three steps that make the team decide the flaws that
may be missed and can be rectified. There are some points that need to be taken care of while:
1. Before initialization of the design
Before commencing the designing, a proper strategy is required.
Tasks should be distributed.

Avoid repetition of the flaws.
Make use of new additional features that may present in the application.
Documentation is important for keeping track of the designing parts.
Proper scheduling of the tasks should be there so as to complete the work on time.
The usability and features should not get jeopardized with the appearance.
2. During the designing stage:
While designing, the target audience should be taken care of.
The interface should be usable and appearance can be made simple.
During the designing stage, communication should be proper among the team members.
Changes should be considered after the recommendations of the team members.
Comparison can be done with other application and idea can be taken from those
applications.
3. After designing stage:
The design should look simple and understandable.
Testing of design should be performed.
Navigations provided should be work properly and appropriately linked with other
screens.

Conclusion
The evaluation on the provided interface design is performed and discussed thoroughly in this
report. The report contains the steps of the procedure that is followed for carrying out the task
performs by team members. The interface design that needs to be evaluated is based on the
heuristics of interface design that was introduced by the Jakob Neilsen and the report contain the
detection of error and its rectification which is based on the heuristics principles.
