AI Summary
This report presents a usability assessment of the 'Local Farm' shop interface, conducted using heuristic principles. It identifies several usability issues, including non-functional back buttons, missing breadcrumbs, broken search functionality, absence of a logo, and lack of images. The assessment categorizes these issues based on severity and proposes remediation strategies such as implementing breadcrumbs for easier navigation, fixing broken links, adding a logo for brand recognition, and incorporating images to enhance user understanding. The report emphasizes the importance of regular testing and adherence to heuristic principles throughout the design process to ensure a smooth and user-friendly application.

Design evaluation
All the evaluation of the design is done by taking the help of the Heuristic principles. These
Heuristic principles are developed by the Molich and Neilson. Design evaluation of screens is
done by Virender Chopra and Harjot Singh. According to Molich and Neilson, there are 10
principles which are shown below:
Heuristic principle: Visibility of system status
Through this principle, the user can be informed about the status of the system. All this is
done by taking the help of feedback and visual cues that are going to be delivered by the
user.
Identifier: Virender Chopra
Category: Major
Problem: User can’t see the current location of the screen or the route that he/she
follows to reach that screen.
Position: It is present on the special page, shopping cart page, product food page and
product wine and product gift page.
Resolution: This problem can be solved by placing the breadcrumbs on the screen.
Through this user experiences can be enhanced in an easy manner.
Heuristic principle: Match between system and the real world
As per this principle, the system has to be designed in such a way so that it can speak the
language which is associated with the user. Also, the system has to follow the
conventions that user is familiar with (Design, 2014).
Identifier: Virender Chopra
Category: Major
Problem: On some pages, there are spelling mistakes through which user can’t
understand the meaning of the page.
Position: It is present in View facilities page.
Resolution: This thing can be resolved by correcting the spelling that is written on the
particular screen. For example, on view facilities page by changing “wiev facilities”
to the “View facilities” user can understand the meaning in an easy manner.

Heuristic principle: User control and freedom
Sometimes user clicks on a place that is not supposed to be clicked then there must be an
option to go back to previous state. Through this user get control over application in an
easy manner.
Identifier: Virender Chopra
Category: Minor
Problem: when user clicks on “Make Payment” button which is placed on “Settings-
Changed-Password_done” page then there must be an option to return back to initial
page.
Position: It is present in the “Settings-Changed-Password_done page”.
Resolution: This can be resolved by placing a back button on the pop-up screen of
“Settings-Changed-Password_done”.
Heuristic principle: Help and Documentation
System has to be designed in such a manner so that it can use without documentation. But
in some places, there is a requirement of providing the documentation so that the user can
understand the environment of application in an easy manner.
Identifier: Virender Chopra
Category: Major
Problem: Certain information of the payment are not mention on the screen. Without
this user can’t understand the information that he has to fill inside the fields.
Position: It is present on the Payment page
Resolution: Certain information like format of card number and card name has to be
present on the screen so that user can be guided in an easy manner.
Heuristic principle: Error prevention
System has to be designed in such a manner so that it has no error in the application. For
that, there is the requirement of checking the application on a regular interval.
Identifier: Virender Chopra
Category: Major
Problem: Some of the buttons are not linking to the desired page.
Position: It is present in Order information page and payment’s page back button.
Resolution: This problem can be resolved by linking the pages to the desired location.
Through this user can redirect to the page in an easy manner.

Remediation of usability issues
While evaluating this interface several issues are found that are present in this application.
Problems that are found by Virender Chopra are shown below:
Issue 1: Back button is not working on several pages like Order information page and
payment page. Lacking this user can’t direct back to the desired screen.
Issue 2: Breadcrumbs can be sited on uppermost of the screen through which user can see
the path through which they travel.
Issue 3: Search functionality is not working on some of the pages like special – menu,
special – quick add etc. Without this user can’t search the things that he is searching on
the page.
Issue 4: There is no logo of Local farm on the open page. Without this user can’t
familiarize themselves with the organisation.
Issue 5: No images are present in the application. without this user has to read about the
topic to get the information associated with the topic.

Usability issues
The screen that is designed for the ‘Local Farm’ shop requires some alteration. Through these
alterations, best experience can be provided to the user. In this report, all the discussion is
done through heuristic principles. Certain steps are required which are presented underneath:
Steps that are needed to follow:
All the realistic context has to be used when the scenarios are created.
All the important task has to be focused in a proper manner.
All the error has to be identified in a proper manner and elimination of the message has to
be done so that maximum errors can be reduced in an easy manner.
Steps required before design:
All the important components that are required inside the application has to be listed in a
proper manner.
Steps required During design:
All the heuristic principles have to be followed in a proper manner.
Steps required after design:
Testing of the applications has to be done in a regular manner. Also, all the flaws and
errors have to be removed so that application can run in a smooth manner.
