Design evaluation
The evaluation of the design is done for the completion of the Assessment Item 3, according to
the evaluation the Heuristic Principles given by Neilson Jackob are used to evaluate the provided
design of the other team members. The design was evaluated for the 10 specified principles of
the Heuristic design and evaluation approach and the recommendation for the improvements
were provided (Hasan, 2013). This work was done by team members: Pradeep Reddy Bhavanam,
Jeevan Reddy Abbadi, and Vasudeva Reddy Kakireddy.

1. Visibility of system status
Location of issue: the location of the issue is on the ticket details page of the design (figure 1).
Reason of issue being a problem: the system does not display the seat number to the user which
is a problem causing the situation.
Issue (minor/significant): Significant issue
2. Match between system and the real world:
Location of issue: the location of the issue is on the booking confirmation page of the design
(figure 2).
Reason of issue being a problem: at the bottom of the page, there is a blue box symbol
multiplied by 2, which confusing for a naïve user to understand.
Issue (minor/significant): Minor
3. User control and Freedom:
Location of issue: the location of the issue is on the parking page of the design (figure 3).
Reason of issue being a problem: the back button on the page does not redirect the user to any
page and there is no option for logout.
Issue (minor/significant): Significant

The design presented here is the provided design for the purpose of evaluation and this design is
not meeting the user requirements fully. The design needs to be improved for usability principle
implementation and the attractiveness also. The design does not contain any image and is not
attractive to the eyes. The main reason that leads a customer/user towards using an application or
website is the look of the same and this need to be enhanced.
There is a need for the team to implement various principles of designing usability on various
pages. The receipt generation option should be provided for both parking extension and ticket
booking. The option to login/log out of the system should be provided in the designs. Other
features like the empty footer and linking need to be enhanced in order to make the design look
more attractive and user-friendly (Hoehle, and Venkatesh, 2015).
