AI Summary
This project report delves into the challenges of implementing the Internet of Things (IoT) in the farming sector. It identifies poor internet connectivity in remote farm locations and the high cost of hardware as major obstacles hindering the adoption of IoT technologies. The report discusses how physical barriers obstruct internet communication and emphasizes the need to address these challenges to improve agricultural productivity. While the project aims to research these challenges and potential solutions, it explicitly excludes the development of any software or applications. The anticipated outcome is a clearer understanding of the hurdles and potential solutions for integrating IoT in farming, contributing to smoother implementation and enhanced farming techniques. Desklib offers a wide range of solved assignments and study resources for students.

Project Title: IOT in Farming
Blog Site Address:
Project Problem Domain:
This research is done to find out the challenges that are faced in the implementation of
the IoT in Farming. This research will talk about the problem related to the IoT in farming
and state the solutions for the problems. The major problems in the IoT in farming is the poor
internet connectivity in farms. Most of the farms are located in the remote areas where the
connectivity of the internet is not strong enough to facilitate the fast transmission speeds. The
communication route of the internet will be obstructed by different obstructions such as the
canopies, crops and some other physical barriers. Another problem that is faced during the
implementation of the IoT in farming is that the cost of the hardware are very high and as a
result of which the farmers still rely on the less developed farming technologies which results
in less production.
Background/Context/Description:
The definition of the Internet of Things is that the actuators and the sensors that are
embedded in the physical objects are connected to each other using the wireless and wired
connections. The term IoT was originated in the year 1999. It was initially designed to
promote the RFID technology. The IoT in came in popularization in the year 2010/2011 and
reached the mass market in the early of 2014. There are various similar concept but the IoT is
till date the most popular term that can be used to represent this phenomenon.

Project Aim/Objectives:
The aim of this project is to do the research on the IoT in farming and find out the
different challenges that are faced during the implementation of the IoT in farming and how
to tackle this challenge and utilize this concept for the betterment of the agriculture and to
increase the productivity.
Scope:
This research is based on the concept of Internet of Things and how the Internet of
Things can be implemented in the farming sector. This report will also talk about the
challenges that are to be faced in the implementation of the IoT in the farming sector and how
to solve the issue in the implementation. The IoT in farming is a concept that is catching up
on the business of agriculture. It offers collection of useful data, high precision in the
controlling of crop and implementation of various farming techniques.
Not in Scope:
There will be no development of any software or application in this project. This is
just a report that will discuss about the concept of IoT and in implementation in the farming
sector. The research will not help in the development of any software or application for the
implementation of the IoT in farming.
Deliverables/Outcomes:
The research will help in the implementation of the IoT in farming in a very smooth
way, it will help in the implementation of various techniques. The research will also list the v
various challenges that are faced in the implementation of the concept of IoT in the farming
sector and will also state the solutions regarding the problem.
