Reflecting on the time estimation task
I used the key phrase “Open source software” to search for a suitable website on the internet.
Using ScienceDirect website and the same phrase, I searched for a journal article and a book
section to write an annotated bibliography for.
When writing the bibliography, I followed the below steps:
a) Summary or description of the source.
b) Evaluation and analysis of the study.
c) Reflection on its usefulness to your research.

Open Source alternatives cost almost nothing, therefore, organizations will not have to incur cost in
purchasing the program. Additionally as the name suggests, the updates of the Open Source are also
free of charge, one is also able to modify the Open Source so that it suits one’s personal needs
something that commercial projects does not offer.
Reasons for use
The website highlights the methods of using open source software for research.
Open-source codes live beyond the company’s life, it is not entirely dependent on current developers
and sponsor organizations a contrasting fact for closed-source commercial projects
