Overview of 5G internet on retail Industry:
5G is the abbreviation for the 5th generation and in the discussed report the focus has
been kept toward the 5G internet. The internet has witnessed 4 major updates since its
inception starting from the 1st generation the internet has continuously upgraded itself to offer
fast speeds, scalability and multiple other benefits. The upgradation has proved to be
beneficial for different sectors because it saves time of the organisations which they utilise in
increasing their productivity. The portfolio in context has taken consideration of the 5th
generation of Internet in the retail Industry. The retails industry may not be large in terms of
capital however, it is very large in size of volume and hence, the need of the industry sectors
are fast and effortless operations. The subject of the paper 5G holds capability to offer the
demand put forth by the retail industry and hence, the portfolio in context will attempt at
evaluating the potential impact that the former will cite on the latter.
Brainstorming:
The retail industry of the current era is dominated by the PoS (Point of Sales) systems
which are centralised to safe keep the data. The discussed technology is operated by the
workers of the retail organisation and with a slow network and lack of flexibility, the system
becomes frustrating for the former. Hence, the introduction of the 5G internet will offer great
ease to the workers with its fast speed.
Internet can be stated as the most disruptive technology of current era and is offering
its services in every sector. Hence, drawing parallels for the technology with other
organisations is relatively simple. It will assist the retail organisation in offering better
customer services and maintain a sound supply chain.

The integration of the tool with PoS will offer prominent advantage to small and
medium retailing enterprises while the same assistance will be offered to the large retailing
organisations and their enterprises software.
Regulations & Ethics:
The subject selected for the tasks ahead is the impact of integrating PoS with the
subject.
5G is the most disruptive advancement in the current internet revolution and hence,
the cost associated with the technology is high and hence, it will cost heavily on the budget of
SMEs (small and medium enterprises) to integrate the PoS with 5G which can be used to
state that cost of 5G is the market constraint for PoS integration.
The laws associated with the internet will be applicable on the 5th generation of
Internet and hence will act as constraint or on the contrary the positive factor for the
advantage offered by integrated 5G PoS system.
The architecture of the 5G will also act as a constraint because the 5G internet will
use of the fibre optics technology and similar modern technologies which are cost and
complex to install. Hence, it can be stated that the architecture of the 5G integrated PoS
system act as a constraint that is blocking its impact.
The PoS system integrated with the 5G will also be connected to the centralised server
and if the 5G network gets hacked it will lose the personal and professional information of
the employees which is a social/ ethical as well as security constraint of the 5G network.
Disruption:
The PoS system if described as part of the modelling then its actors are the employee,
server, system UI (User Interface) and the customer. While the customer acts as the

secondary because they directly do not interact with system rather the employee does it for
them. However, in case of Kiosk, the interaction between the system and the customer is
direct but the employee is omitted in that scenario and hence the discussion will take context
of Kiosk. So, the actors of the discussed scenario are customer, System UI and server. The
events that takes place are the communication between customer & system UI and system UI
& the server. The decisions are the selection of products, payment, verification and others.
The decision points are mode of payment and the outcome is sell f the product. The image

offers speed and hence, it cannot be discussed as before and after and hence a generalised
diagram is presented.
