Task 1: Research
IoT abbreviated for Internet of Things has proved itself as one of the most dominant
technology in the current era. The dominance that the IoT enjoys is because of the
prominence that is offered by it in the information sharing which ultimately lead to an
enhance operation. The role and impact of the IoT in the comic book industry can be
evaluated by the impact that the IoT have on the printing industry and how it can assist in its
operations. The impact can be described by the fact that the IoT through its real-time
monitoring capabilities enhances the operational efficiency of the comic book industry. The
real-time monitoring enables to identify the potential errors that may occur in the printing and
other operations. Additionally, it also assists in communication between different
departments of the industry and monitoring in the other operations of the organisation such as
the energy monitoring, employee management and other activities that needs monitoring. The
potential impact of the discussed technology on the comic book industry has been discussed
in the following section.
Task 2: Brainstorming
The potential impacts of the IoT in the comic book industry has been listed as
follows:
 The IoT will enhance the communication capability within the comic book industry.
The communication here is referring to the communication between the machine &
human factor and the human & human of different department. It will assist the
employees of the industry to enhance their productivity.
 The industry in context will also be benefited in maintaining its supply-chain. As the
comic books are popular across the globe which raises the need for their
transportation and management of the wholesale buyers. The IoT can benefit in

keeping the live tracking and automated means of delivery of the comic books from
publisher’s house to the seller’s store.
 The IoT may suffer in some operations due to their limited range of network
connectivity. However, introducing cloud as part of the IoT will mitigate the
challenge and enhance its impact on the comic book industry.
Task 3: Regulation & Ethics
IoT’s impact on the supply chain of the comic book industry has been selected as the
impact upon which the Lawrence Lessig’s regulation will be discussed.
 Limitation of cross boundary transfer of data will constraint the impact of IoT on
supply chain of comic book industry.
 Different transportation means are used as part of the supply chain process and it is
difficult to connect all the means as part of IoT and hence, its architecture acts as a
constraint.
 The economy involved in adding all the transportation means to the IoT is a costly
association and hence a constraint.
 The threat of data leakage associated with the IoT is an ethical constraint for the
impact.

Actors: Comic Industry, Supplier and the receiver
Event: Transport of comic book from comic publishing house to seller’s store.

Activities: Order posted by sellers, stock verification, payment process, delivery preparation,
delivery initiation, receiving by the seller and delivery notification to the supplier & the
comic publisher.
Decision points: verification of stock, payment confirmation, development of notification.
Outcome: Successful delivery.
The discussed process initiates with the order placed by the buyer and after the
processing of the payment is successful, the stock is verified after which the offering is
transported through different means. The final step involves receiving of the delivered goods
by the buyer and a receivable notification to the sender. A process model diagram has been
attached below to explain the processes that are part of the discussed process along with the
decision points.

IoT or Internet of Things connect all the systems that together completes a specific operation
of an entity.
The entity here may refer to a home and the systems are the home appliance while the
operation is automation of the house.

Again its IoT…
IoT will monitor the systems and in case of any fault is identified it will intimate the
maintenance department before using the system and hence preventing any data or design
lose.
The impact of the IoT is not limited to the above discussed impacts but further enhances to
different genres.
So, IoT like every industry benefits the comic industry and have major impact.
