Tutorial 2
This tutorial is used to investigate the Linux Lite GUI.
Task 1
First, install Linux Lite under Virtual Box. To install this on a Virtual box follow the
below steps:
First, open virtual box and click on New to enter the name as Linux Lite. Then, click
on use and existing virtual hard disk file and upload the Linux Lite VMDK file. Next, click
on Create to create a Linux Lite virtual environment as demonstrated below.
Linux Lite virtual environment is created, next click on start to start Linux Lite (Baxter,
2014).

Login to Linux Lite, where the enter user name and password must be entered as
demonstrated below.
Linux Lite is opened.

Open Linux Lite Help Manual by double clicking on Help Manual. This will run
Firefox and display the Linux Lite manual as demonstrated below.
Click on Menu Icon to view the office category of applications and also it shows the
other categories of applications.

Also view the system category of applications and multimedia categories of
applications as demonstrated below.

Then, view the bottom right hand corner of the screen which displays workplace,
speaker, time and date, network setting and workplace setup as shown below.
Configure Desktop workspaces by right clicking on one of the two workspaces boxes,
and select the workspaces setting to change the number of workspaces as 6 like demonstrated
below.

Task 2
This task gains the familiarity with Linux Applications. First, run the calculation by
clicking on Menu  Accessories  Calculator View  advanced mode as Scientific
Model like demonstrated below.

Enter the hexadecimal number as 0x2A. Then convert it into number system as
demonstrated below.

Then, determine the Control Sequences in keyboard by clicking left, right, down and
up arrow to change the calculation formula as demonstrated below.
