4. Visual design
4.1. Home Page Mock-Up
4.2. Composition
The use of responsive web design is done as the design methodology and the design has been kept simple.
The layout for the web pages is kept consistent across all the pages and it includes the sections as header,
menu, body, and footer. The responsive web design provides the ability to access the website in any of the
modes and the website automatically adjusts as per the mode selected by the user (Sutton, 2018). The use of
the methodology will make sure that the overall user experience is enhanced with the site.
The navigation and scrolling including in each page is smooth and the users can easily navigate from one
web page to the other. There is no over-scrolling done on any page to make sure that simplicity is
maintained. The avoidance of over-lapping of the content and whitespaces is also done.
4.3. Color Scheme
The color scheme that is selected for the website is consistent across the web pages. The use of light color is
done for the background color of the web pages and the color of the textual content is darker. This color
scheme is chosen so that the text can be easily read and there is no difficulty in locating the options on the
website. The readability of the textual content is enhanced with the aid of the chosen color scheme which
also enhances the overall look & feel of the site.
4.4. Typography
The font style selected for the content on the website is Times New Roman for the headings, sub-headings,
and the content in the sections.
The headings have the font size as 20 pt. followed by 16 pt. for the sub-headings and 14 for the content in
the sections. The font face is selected as Times New Roman as it is the standard form and is widely accepted
and known to the users. The size for the headings, sub-headings, and content is chosen in this manner as the
readability of the text is extremely important. The users shall be able to read the text from a certain distance
as well. The majority of the content on the site is in the form of textual content and therefore, the font size
chosen is slightly larger than the usual.
