Introduction
Artificial Intelligence has changed the whole outlook of the world. With spreading its wing in
every direction, it has shown its impact on the medical field tool. Using technology and AI in the
medical field will open many opportunities and will increase many solutions to various medical
fields. With increasing complexity in the human and medical science and unable to reach even
to the basic health care facilities, AI will act as a helping hand to achieve these basic needs and
services. AI has helped to achieve the more accurate results of diagnostics, helped in reducing
the rate of mortality, helped in providing assistance to the doctors, nurses and patients. Hence the
following research proposal discusses both positive as well as the negative impact of the AI in
the medical field.
The main purpose of this assignment is to enable the student to present their proposal in front of
an audience with confidence and develop the skills of the researcher.
Research Question
The following research proposal will help to answer the following questions:
 How AI is going to impact medical science? Discuss its both positive as well as negative
aspects.
 Discuss the current situation and what does AI is doing for people in today’s generation?
 What are the safety and ethics consideration on AI with respect to the medical field?
 How AI and Machine learning will help in solving the complexities faced in the medical
field?
The methodologies which are chosen to conduct the research are both qualitative as well as the
quantitative research design. The important terms (Becker, 2019) which are used in this research
methodology are constructivism, descriptive, quasi-experimental, non-experimental,
interpretivism, positivism, grounded theory, inductive logic, deductive logic and ethnography.

Literature Review
According to Becker, 2019, Artificial Intelligence (AI) has been used in almost every segment of
health science to fulfil the major purpose. In the paper, the author first discusses the past work on
AI and then arrives at the current application of AI. Author give four main functionality which is
performed by AI which is It helps in finding the success rate of treatment applied and examining
the diseases and their risk factor, it also helps in providing the assistance to doctor as well as
providing the care to the patient. It also helps in providing solutions to various complexities and
complications. At last, the author also discusses the negative drawback of AI and also lists
various precaution methods to save from its adverse effect.
Methodology and Data Collection
For the evaluation of the impact of AI various variable are used like innovations which lead to
solving complexities, factors stopping technology like AI (Becker, 2019) to be fully trusted.
Research methodologies are used to gather information and collect data. The various research
methodologies which can be used to do so in an interview, surveys, group studies, experiments,
retrospective, questionaries’ and etc.
Ethics and Safety Aspects
AI is widening its range from work and moving it into the personal life and hence it compels to
ask the question of replacing the human workforce with the sort of machines. Healthcare and
medical field are a very critical area where every decision or action can lead to life or death.
Would AI and Machine learning be able to take that many precise decisions? Privacy matters
most in the medical segment Does machine and AI will be able to maintain the data of patient
securely, ethically and responsibly with the power to analysis (Taylor, et.al, 2015) the statistics
of their past record. Integrating AI in the health segment will not result in fewer job opportunities
and unemployment? There are seven factors which define ethics in the medical field which are:
diversity, social welfare and environmental well-being, privacy and security of data,
transparency, robustness and accountability. An AI system must be the one which treats every
patient equally, protect the dignity and should be used in the welfare of the patient.

Conclusion
Hence in the above report, an interim research proposal is presented on the topic “Artificial
Intelligence in the medical field”. It helps to discuss the basic idea of methodologies and
development used for conducting the research proposal. It talks about various aspects of AI in
the medical field.
