ITNE2002 Network and Information Security: Biometric Security Report

 The biometric are metrics of human body related features that are used to keep
the access limited for any confidential information. As the only one key can
open the related lock, the key for the biometric system is the unique
information related to human body.

Technical Set up for Biometric System
 The biometric system is consists of three parts which are -
 Sensor- It is kind of reader or scanner of biometric system
 Computer- It is user to store the information related to biometric data and
consist the software related to biometric operation.
 Software- The soft ware connects the hardware to the sensor to perform
identification operation.

Advantages of Biometric Security
System
 It is good for corporate office for attendance of employees.
 No one can steal the biometric information from a person.
 This technology consumes less time.
 Easy to implement
 Cost efficient.

Disadvantages of Biometric Security
System
 The digital system can cause failure.
 Require additional hardware.
 Can not be reset once it compromised.
 The behavioural and environmental changes affect the efficiency of system

The Latest technological use of
Biometric Security system
 The biometric technique is used by current mobile phone company to offer
more security to user. The fingerprint sensor is provided to scan the fingerprint
of individual person or user. The other system provided in the smartphone is
face recognition, this method is used to unlock the phone by scanning the face
of used.

 The use of Biometric security system is concluded in the
report. The technology hard ware used for biometric system is
explained in study. The advantages and disadvantage of
