- Hello, I am <INSERT NAME> here. I am making this video presentation as a part of the
requirement of the course to reflect upon the lessons and knowledge gained from this
Operations Management module. So let us get started right away.
- When I first came across the Operations Management module, I thought it was bit tough
to understand right away as it was a collection of various case studies and concepts that
needed to be understood. However, my professor helped me a lot to get hold on the
subject as I progressed in the module.
- As a part of the exercise on Operations Management, I was provided with this particular
assignment and the text book. I needed to study the case studies provided in the book and
answer the specified questions at the end of each case study.
- Frankly speaking, I have learnt a lot from this assignment as well as the entire Operations
Management module. I got to know and learn about various Operations Management
concepts like ABC analysis, retail chain analysis, process design, process technology,
inventory management, quality management and many others. Most of these concepts
were extremely useful for solving the problems (questions at the end of each case study)
and hence, I needed to learn them properly before I could solve them myself.
- For the process of solving the problems, I followed a specific approach towards the
learning process. My approach involved three main stages – own observation, peer
discussion posts and finally my own research process.
- For my own observation process, I first read the case studies on my own to develop my
own understanding of the matter i.e. what the case studies are trying to tell and how I can

use the information to solve the problems and answer the questions provided at the end of
each case study. While learning, I discovered that I had all the information I need to solve
the problems from the case study itself. However, while developing my answers, I needed
to be absolutely sure whether I was correct or not. Another problem was that some case
studies were complex in nature and I was not able to understand all the concepts and
information clearly.
- Next came the peer review process when I interacted with my team members who were
studying the same module as me. After completing my personal study of the case studies,
I contacted a few of my team members so that we can learn and discuss the problems
together. This was extremely helpful as many complex topics became easier and many
important information became very clear to me. Thus I gathered considerable amount of
knowledge from these peer review sessions.
- Finally, I needed to conduct my own research on the particular topics I was working on. I
got access to some peer reviewed journals that contained important information regarding
operations management. After my own peer review process, I developed a draft of my
answers to the questions provided in the case study. In this phase, I gathered information
from the journals and compared them against the draft I created. After making changes to
the draft, I finalized my answers and submitted them to the professor for review and
marking.
- Overall, my entire experience in this module was extremely delightful as I enjoyed the
entire course throughout my learning process. The assignment book contained several
interesting case studies that helped me to explore different areas of Operations
Management in an interesting way. However, of all the case studies I read, the case study

named “supplies4medics.com” has been of special interest to me as I learned a new
analysis method with the simplest of ways and that can also solved very complex sales
related operational problems.
- I also had an enjoyable experience while working with my fellow team members during
the entire module. All the team members were extremely friendly as we started to learn
together to simplify the complex problems and find accurate answers to the questions.
- I also got very much support from my professor who provided me with a lot of advice
regarding learning approach and how can I solve the problems provided to me with the
help of my personal research and learning process.
