Summary
Big data have become popular in businesses and information technology since the
past few years where many companies like Yahoo, eBay, Twitter, Facebook and Google
consider using big data for analysing business scenario. According to the article authors, big
data is richer and have a huge capacity to hold data and show details about activities, events
and behaviour of people using the web. The finding of the article is relevant to data analytic
study as it reveals that big data give access to different kind of data available from huge
sources within a lesser response time. Research questions addressed in the research paper
includes information regarding benefits behind data analytics, how do companies collect a
huge amount of data and whether employing big data analytic foster businesses with a
competitive advantage or not.
The transmission of data analytics underlines the performance predictors which assists
decision-makers to integrate further data while taking into account suitable actions for
striving business goals. For instance, Hadoop, one of the open-source platforms which allow
processing of big data sets into the smaller computing environment. The software allows
building, organizing and evaluating big-data sets within the business environment and offers
3 architectural layers, graphical presentations and exploration of unstructured data within
cloud-environment. Although it cannot be said that every successful firm uses big data
analytics for the decision-making process, the above article educates its readers about how
big data analytics foster business environment irrespective of riskier climate or amidst new
business trends.
Critical analysis
Organizations using big data analytics such as data sourcing and integration of data
can speed up exploitation and efficiency of big data analytics within operations and process
management. The exploitation of data analytics within industrialization processes has the
potential to promote enhanced industrialization as well as agility performance. However, my
concern is whether every company can access information easily or they need to consider
other rules for gathering information from other websites like from private accounts of
people. Moreover, Grady, Payne, & Parker (2017) argues that the development of agile
software methodology and how it can evolve data science can be comprehended after
learning the process of different methods development. According to the authors, big data
analytic can introduce various complexities because of data distribution and involvement of
various organizations like cloud services.
Big data in firms decision making have garnered a considerable response which is the
reason most of the firms invest in big data analytics to improve their performance growth
ratio ( Maroufkhani, Wagner, Ismail, Baroto, & Nourani, 2019). Similarly, the above article
taught me about how companies acquire crucial insight with the help of structured and

collected data and process them through commercial database management procedure. The
only research gap found in the paper was the lack of information about how companies with
limited resources can utilize big data or, are there any internal motives associated with the
supply side in big data. Overall, this paper provides a good insight into how reengineering
processes can be utilised by firms to integrate big data and reap benefits out of it.
