Introduction
Social etiquettes are very necessary to grow as a person and as a professional in
today’s times. The organisation from which we belong is one of the professional international
companies that work with finances. Therefore it is obvious that the colleagues who work with
us are usually under pressure of performing their job with great efficiency and meet their
targets. However whether they are sufficiently knowledgeable about the etiquettes or not can
be understood from their social behaviour which they display in various settings (Earley &
Mosakowski, 2004).
Evaluation
The following analysis and evaluation is based on the mind map developed which is attached
in the appendix.
Work Place Etiquettes
The group of our colleagues are very professional in their workplace setting. The
work is done in perfect time and the deadlines are usually met within time. The colleagues
are very respectful of their seniors and each of them respect each other’s privacy. Negative
thing about their workplace etiquette is they react abruptly when they are put under pressure
(Lai, Shankar & Khalema, 2017).
Social Etiquettes
When the colleagues are put into the social situations where they have to socially
interact with each other often it is seen that they end up talking about their workplace (Leung,
2013). This is one of the negative factor, because generally social etiquettes imply people
should talk about each other’s interest, health and family rather than workplace (Robicquet et
al., 2016). However when the colleagues engage in social gathering they are happy and the
atmosphere remains positive.

Public Etiquettes
The colleagues are well versed in their public etiquette and they react very
courteously when travelling in public transport or standing in queue, which should be the
ideal case (Simmel, 2012). However when they are on their way to office it is seen that
because of less time available to spend they tend to hurry which sometimes disrupt their
public etiquettes, however this is not the general case. The employees are taught that they
represent the company when they are in the public sphere so they acr enough cautiously and
courteously.
Table Manners
When people visit restaurants they should be maintaining some decency as it is a
public place for eating out (Parasuraman & Miller, 2004). The colleagues are seen to be
aware about the various aspects of behaving decently in such a situation. Some of the aspects
they follow very carefully are not making sound while eating in the plates, or not chewing
with mouth open. However when they speak among themselves sometimes they start
speaking very loudly which is often not considered courteous. This must be checked.
Conclusion
It is important for the working professionals to maintain their public social etiquettes
well maintained. There are various social etiquettes which must be followed in the public
places like not talking loudly, not standing too close, using phone cautiously and so forth.
The colleagues are well versed about etiquettes in various spheres as they themselves work in
a very professional company. It is expected that the few glitches they have must be corrected
as soon as possible.
