Jackie Fouse is an American business lady who has served in almost five different
companies. Currently, she is the chief executive operating officer at Celgene. Moreover, Jackie
Fouse has had her pas ten jobs as president, global hematology as well as oncology at Celgene.
Jackie Fouse is a true inspiration for women who aspire to be leaders. She possesses a great
personality that makes her a true leader, this is evident in the great results that have been seen in
the companies she has worked in. Jackie Fouse is a holder of three board as well as an advisor in
three companies. These boards include board of directors at Perrigo, Celgene, and a member of
the board of directors in Dick's sporting goods.
Jackie Fouse’s Background
Jackie was born in Fort Worth in Texas. She was a student at the University of Texas at
Arlington. This is the institution where she obtained her bachelor's degree, master's degree in
economics as well as a Ph.D. in finance. Her family puts effort into education. It is reported that
her mother was a specialized mathematician, whereas her father was a mechanical engineer. She
grew up with her sister, who is now a pianist with a doctorate in music. As she was growing, her

In her earlier carrier, she served at Celanese as a team member. In the year 1986 to 1993,
she worked as a manager in corporate investments and domestic finance company. This
organization went by the name Alcon. From 1993 to 1999, she engaged herself as a team
member at Nestle Company. In the year 1999, she was appointed as a group treasurer at the same
company. She served as treasurer up to 2001. In 2001, she served in Swissair Company as a chief
financial officer. She lasted at Swissair Company for a year. After that, she joined the Alcon
organization. In Alcon, she worked as senior vice president, chief financial officer, and head of

prolonged stay in one company since she started working. From July 2007 to September 2010,
she worked in Bunge Company as Chief financial officer. In September 2010, she joined
Celgene Company. In Celgene she served two positions. These positions included chief financial
officer and senior vice president. She served these two roles for two years in a row from where
she was promoted to work as executive president and still perform her chief financial officer
duties (Simon et al 2017). This promotion was from February 2012 to July 2014. In July 2014,
she was also promoted to become the president of global hematology and oncology of Celgene
(Ratner 2014). Fouse believes that best science will bring creative business ideas in Celgene
Company.
To conclude, the story of Ms. Fouse is inspiring, considering she grew up in Texas,
where her parents had a goat farm to the president of the world breast cancer medicine-producing
company. It is true to say that education is the key to greater heights, and passion is what keeps
driving it. Jackie Fouse's background and her current life is something that got me inspired and
changed my general attitude to life. However, Jackie been very rich; she always goes home to
check her family goat farm. The fact that she is proud of her home place despite been rich and a
public icon has changed my general outlook. This is a show of humbleness.
