INTRODUCTION
Operations management is converting the materials into goods and services so that
company can enhance its profits in the organization. To maximize profits managers try to
balance cost with revenue. The resources are used in such a manner that usage of waste is as less
as possible. It involves some functions like managing the supply chain, designing of product,
quality control and so on. There are many sectors which are involved in operations management
like hospitals, banking systems and so on. Each business depends on the operations management
whether it’s a small business or a large business. There are some strategies that managers make
while performing like planning for the data, controlling data challenges, analyzing inventory,
setting goals and social responsibility. The below analysis is based on Jaguar cars. It is the
multinational and luxury car brand which has headquarter in England. It is famous for its luxury
engine and became a strong brand name of sports car. (Barnes, 2018)

Jaguar cars have always focused on selective customers only who belong from high class
groups like professionals or big businessman’s. They focus on those people who love to drive.
Every business wants to produce quality products for the customers and enhances their image as
well as reputation of the organization.
Equipment upgrades: It means to perform better in future some technologies have to be
improved. So, in case of Jaguar Company, They focused on increasing the productivity so
that their profits can be increased and at the same time people will be excited to purchase
such cars.
Communication coordination: The main important thing for any organization is to have
good communication skills between all people working in the particular sector. It will not
only help in improving productivity of the organization but at the same time the
information which is transferred between workers is improved. In the case of Jaguar,
workers interaction is really very good. (Reid and Sanders, 2019)
Revenue collection: A company making huge profits can handle all the revenue easily
and mange cash in hand smoothly. So, as the company is still one of the most luxuries
brand so the profits which company earns is a huge one and they handle all issues easily.
Six sigma: It means to eliminate all the defects so that organization can achieve a
preferred quality product. So, in the case of Jaguar car brand the aim was to establish a

There are different operation management practices which can impact an organization in both
efficient and effective way. These are:- Total Quality management: It is a strategy which a company applies for their long term
success so that they can enhance their profits. Company makes various strategies for their
improvement whether in case of technologies, or in any kind of materials. They focus on
various customers interests, produce the products according to that and involve fast
decision making too. There are various functions which a company performs to evaluate
their long term success and that can be done by making those strategies which will
enhance the productivity of organization. It improves motivation of employees to work
better for their future. There are some steps which are followed in total quality
management like a planning team is made which makes strategies for how to achieve
success, after making some strategies they focus on the changes which are need in the
organization, a vision is set up and work is done according to that and then reviews are
being analyzed regarding the quality of products they are offering. (Choi, Wallace and
Wang, 2018)
Just In time: It means when a company needs goods, they receive it as fast as possible.
In today’s world time is the most important thing everyone cares for. No person likes to
wait otherwise they will switch to another one. It also helps the company to not store
huge stock of goods, as whenever they want any material they can get it at that particular
time. This helps the company to improve their efficiency which becomes a positive point
for organization. Every type of business don’t want to keep large amount of stock with
them as it not necessary that within few days only they will earn good profits so this
operation management practice is considered to be a good way to improve efficiency in
the organization. (Lee, 2018)
Lead Production: It means producing those goods which customers wants and is excited
to purchase that particular product. Any business or an organization produces those
products or uses raw materials which can make a good impact on consumers. As the main
focus of any company is to work according to consumer needs and wants. Production
should never get stopped in an organization because it will affect their image or
reputation. Whether it’s a small business or a large organization production is done on
lead basis. If any changes are required to be made on products or changes should be done

automotive industries, Car lovers just want one thing that is advanced technology especially who
loves travelling and are sports car lovers. In the case of Jaguar sports car, it is still one of the
luxury car brand company which has earned a huge amount of profit because of the advanced
technology it uses in comparison to another sports car brand. There are many luxury cars that are
using good technology and is enhancing profit but at the same time in comparison to Jaguar car
brand it was at best position. There are many technologies that are used by Jaguar brand like
parking options are better as they warn about the obstacles, voice messages are given when you
are too close, there are child-locks, anti-skid brakes, there is better fuel efficiency, car has also
introduced the concept of virtual windscreen which shows sort of main information, external
cameras capture the images, traffic lights also gives countdown timers and so on. As time
changes technology also needs to be changes. (Guha and Kumar, 2018) .
An organization cannot rely only on one technology because every customer wants
different things and they are excited to use different things. So, as in the case of car brand
advanced technologies are introduced because as a sports car lover no one wants to use old
featured cars. As in the case of Jaguar cars, camera technogies are much more powerful that
other cars. In other production cars the technogy is not much advanced. In Jaguar car digital
technology is used. The new sensor technology is introduced which helps drivers to park

and all type of software. They have full knowledge about computer software which performs

on increasing productivity rather than focusing on unproductive tasks. As main task of any
organization is to enhance customer satisfaction which will help company to increase their
profits. There are many steps through which company performs their tasks like planning,
organizing, directing and then controlling. They ensure that all employees are performing their
tasks efficiently in an effective way. Before achieving any task, organization has to make some
strategies regarding how they will perform their tasks. Some sort of pre-planning is required to
perform effectively. The organization main focus is on customer satisfaction which can be done
by providing good quality products. So, main work of employees should be on making quality
products only because it will affect their reputation as well their image. (Terwiesch and et.al,
2020)

motivating employees, using resources in the most efficient way. To increase goodwill of the
organization, company had to provide quality products to consumers to increase their satisfaction
level. It is very important for management to use their resources effectively so that no wastage is
done. For this, proper strategies are made by the organization, pre-planning is done so that
resources can be optimally used. (Boscari and et.al, 2018)
For proper management of organization employees should also be motivated so that they
work with more enthusiasm and work with more passion. There are many things through which
operation management practices can be supported in an efficient manner like utilizing best
practice activities, review of policies that drive working practices, innovation of new practices of
working and so on. To achieve success, organization has to undergo various functions so that it
creates a healthy environment in a company. It is considered that leadership is the most
important function for achieving success. In this proper planning is done by the leaders regarding
how work is to be done and execute all the plans in an efficient manner. Communication is
another important factor that is necessary in an organization. There should be proper
communication between all employees so that healthy environment remains in the organization.
A company must ensure that their performance is increasing in a better manner and if any
changes are required in the organization then it should be done as fast as possible because
increasing productivity is the most important thing for any type of organization. (Feng and

According to above analysis it is concluded that, operation management practices affects
the organization in both efficient and effective way. In case of Jaguar cars, it has become the
most luxury multinational car brand because of the productive features and technologies it used
in their cars. They always focused on high class businessman because everyone can’t afford to
purchase such expensive cars. They developed many technologies to enhance their productivity
and increase their profits. As technology is considered the main factor whether in small
organization or a large organization, so companies have to focus on this main factor. In the case
Jaguar cars the camera technology was the main productive feature which was much more

Every organization focuses on long term success and this can be achieved by improving the
