focused on video games, DVDs. Blu-rays, electronic/hardware and home appliances. This
research paper will be discussing the present business environment and cultural background of
the company (Lukas, Whitwell and Heide, 2013). The last year of microeconomic environment
of the company is said to be one of the most difficult and challenging year in the history of the
company. Further, the aim and objectives of the company are as follows:
Aim To understand the impact of cultural background and business environment: Study on JB
Hi-Fi.
Objectives

current market condition.

METHODS
In this research paper, secondary research was used, which was done by using the
existing research done in the past. Different research subjects, experiments, journals, books and
newspapers havebeen used for conducting this study (Huffer, 2017). Last year it was reported
that JB Hi-Fi is the best retailer company in Australia. The organizational culture can be
described as the values and religious beliefs of all the employees. Culture of any organization is
the most essential factor which will determine the success and failure of the business. It is having
direct impact on the core values of the company and their employees (Selwyn and et.al., 2017).
The retailer's culture has started becoming a barrier to their potential predators, because
they are afraid that JB might lose their unique style of working because of cultural differences.
The employees of the company is from all over the world (Rashid, Loke and Ooi, 2014). They all

employees. The company is having different communication channel, by which they are
providing daily news to all of their employees, and hang some creative and colourful posters of
motivation. Such kind of activities will keep the working environment very positive. Educational
and social systems is also affecting the cultural background (Stratton, 2017).
The main concept of working in a huge company is that all the employees have to be very
open minded in terms of the culture of other workers. They must respect the culture by keeping
their ego aside, so that the working processes can run very smooth going (Carson, 2017). JB hi-fi
is not discriminating the employees based on their culture and nationality. The aim is to keep all
the employees together as a strong unit, so that they will keep improving their profitability by
providing high quality products in their stores. Even though, the company is maintaining good
background of the culture, but it needs to change as per the needs of their workers (Strong and
Greig, 2014).
The business environment is the combination of both internal and external factors which
are influencing the operational situation of the company (Vella, Johnson and Hides, 2013). This
will include the influence of their clients and suppliers, advanced technology, the current social
and economic trends and the laws and different government activities. The current trend of the
company is that they are putting more focus on the use of advanced technology, so that it will
improve the gaming quality and attract more number of consumers. The present condition of JB
hi-fi is very good as per the Australian market and they are the leading organization in terms of
retailing goods which includes gamings and home appliances.
RESULTS
This study shows that for improving the business, the company have to maintain their
social and business environment by keeping the employees motivated. The paper shows that
even though, the company was facing tougher challenges form their employees, their aim was to
keep on improving and providing quality services and goods for their consumers (Hartley,2013).
This will make them connected to the company and it will also be helpful in attracting new
buyers. Secondary research is the best way by which a proper research can be done, because it
will take less time to find out the company's profile, their total revenue and market reputation. JB
hi-fi is maintaining their style of selling goods despite of having few cultural differences here
and there in their organization. This is why they are still the leading retailer in the Australian
market.

The retail sector is Australia is in its peak this year but now they facing can face tough
competition because of the entry of Amazon. Even though, Amazon is presently available in the
country, but they are not having any kind of distribution capabilities. After their entry, all other
retailers like JB hi-fi will have to reduce the cost of their products, this will decrease their
profitability. The competition will be more in the market, which will lower to cost of gaming
products (JB Hi-Fi's workplace giving, 2017). So the retail companies might face the drop in
their sales rate. But it will have less influence on the larger retail brands like JB hi-fi, because of
their vast distribution channel and high consumers trust on them. The company is offering
variety of products on the lower rates with the best quality available in the market. By this way
they will maintain their business environment also and cultural background.

retail market industry, JB hi-fi have to maintain their cultural background, so that their
