Introduction
The primary reason for joining a college and acquiring a degree is to get a job according to the interest of
someone. Getting a proper job as per one’s liking is highly important as it is not only important for
survival but also for mental peace. Every job has a different role which helps people to experience and
learn new skills which helps them grow in their respective field. This paper is a job analysis and will
focus on the job of my interest which is a fundraising coordinator in the organisation, YMCA.
Job purpose
The main purpose of the job is to raise funds for the organisation to fulfill the goals of the organisation
which is to ensure the wellbeing of woman and girls in the society and also to diminish the discrimination
in the society against women and girls.
Tasks and duties related to the job
The job of a fundraising coordinator is required to do the following duties to accomplish the goals and the
vision of the company.
Relationship management and stakeholder partnering
This job requires maintaining contact with the individual donors and the major philanthropic
donors. It is important to provide updates regularly on the return on investment by the donors
and also create and implement some strategies that help in gaining more donors or raising more
money. In order to ensure stakeholder partnering, it is important to develop content to influence
people to donate to the organisation.

The next duty is to align the program objectives with the relevant philanthropic grant
opportunities by creating annual grants and also to support the managers and the stakeholders to
submit superior quality applications as per the grant matrix ad review them quarterly.
Lead the program fundraising
Create and then deliver a huge range of fundraising programs to attract people and increase the
amount of donors and also encourage relationship activities. This also requires training all the
members involved in the programs and also assist in the planning.
Growth targets
The job requires focusing on growth targets and thus the fundraising coordinator needs to consult
with the managers of the organisation and the programs to produce fundraising plans and ensure
that the targets for fundraising are met as per the budget of the program. It also needs to
implement strategies that will help in making the donors feel that it is charity of choice and is not
forced upon people.
Reporting
The fundraising coordinator needs to report to the manager on a monthly basis and ensure the
fact that all the donated funds have been used in a proper manner and it aligns with the
undertakings of the sponsor’s and donor’s requirements.

Should have a degree in commerce and have a specialization in finance or accounts or in any
related field or can also have a master’s degree in the same mentioned fields.

The three skills required for the job are the following
active listening- This is essential so that the coordinator can give utmost
attention to what the people are asking and also to take time to understand
and analyze what the people, employees or donors are recommending or
saying.
critical thinking- Critical thinking is highly important to come up with ideas
that will help in creating effective and fruitful campaigns.
Persuasion- This will help in changing the thought of the people and
encouraging them to participate in the process. (Onetonline.org., 2020).
Abilities
The abilities required for the job are the following
oral expression- This will help in effective communication so that one can convey ideas
to the people.
written expression- This will help in communicating ideas in written so that the people
and the donors understand the idea properly and also to write letters of gratitude to

speech recognition.- This will help in understanding the needs and the suggestions of
other people.

has been acquired from the college will help in working in this profession effectively and help in
contributing to the success of the organisation.
