Job Application Answers
1. Why do you want to work for us?
In the retail fast food industry, McDonalds is one of the giants. Working in this organization as

organization has not only earned its name in London or UK, its presence can felt worldwide in
the different countries all over the world. This company will provide me to have a global outlook
on the ways operations are managed in the global platform. The history of the company is
profound and good and it has proved itself a market leader in satisfying the taste buds of the
consumers. Working in your organization will instil in sense of pride of being attached to such
an esteemed organization. McDonalds has always tried to incorporate the latest technology that
came up in the food industry and this aspect will help understand the key trends in the market.
The quality of the services provide by the company is quite comprehensive in nature and thus, I
think I will be able to align myself with the values of the venture. All the activities in the
organizations from my end will be comprehended with the leadership skills I possess and will
bring in fruitful experiences for me at McDonalds.
2. Tell us about a time you worked in a group to achieve an objective (what did you do
and what was the outcome?)
In the various companies I have worked in, different managerial skills were exhibited by me. I
have always believed that success can be achieved through effective teamwork in a business
organization. This notion on teamwork has also helped me bring in growth to the individual self.
In a specific activity at TESCO, I was the team leader. In a situation that cropped up in the
company, I resorted to critical thinking in order to effectively solve the problem, The STAR
model was used by me. The STAR model on implementation helps in solving a single problem
with different solutions (Soni, 2017). In the internship that I did in TESCO as the customer
service executive, I was responsible for solving the queries of the consumers that came to the
store. I leaded the sales team from the front and the month after I joined the organization, the
sales department achieved the double target that was set for the team. Being a leader in the sales
and CRM team, I was able to double the sales amount through effective leadership skills and

strategic plans. I always kept the employees on the forefront and guided them whenever they
needed any kind of help.
While forming strategies for the CRM and sales team, I was always apprehensive on the solving
the queries of the consumers and making the stocks available at the right time. I did a course on
consumer analysing behaviour and this helped me in forming product placement strategy in the
company. While leading the team, I also gathered knowledge on the changing demands of the
consumers, which would later help me to boost the sales of the department. I did all this through
my theoretical and practical knowledge
3. Tell us about a time when you identified a new approach to solve a problem. (what did
you do and what was the outcome?)
I have an immensely curious nature. I always looks out for different ways to solve a particular
problem or critical situation. Through helping my team in different situation, I have been
imbibed with a sense of confidence in me. In my working tenure at TESCO as well as Primark, I
have faced abundant critical issues related to sales and employee management. I always had one
element clear in mind that the employees should be guided in an effective manner in order to
curb any situation in the company. At a certain point of time in Primark, the sales did hit the
bottom level and the over-head costs of the company as tremendously high. Thus, I took to a new
strategy in order to solve the problem.
I made it sure to use the resources available in the organization in order to solve the problem. As
a leader in the sale and CRM department, I was able to deal with significant issues with greater
efficiency. I found out that understanding the psychology of the potential consumers and their
buying patterns will help the organization regain its sales percentage. With effective guidance to
my subordinates, I was able to solve the problem and contribute towards the growth of the
venture. The results of my hard work was satisfactory and it helped me gain recognition in the
business. In addition to this, it also boosted my confidence as and effective sales team lead.
4.Tell us about a time when you had to manage a number of different priorities and
complete a number of tasks in a short amount of time (what did you do and what was the
outcome?)
6
Document Page
In the professional career, it is always necessary to prioritize tasks and respect the deadlines that
comes with it. In other words, it can be said that in professional life and as a manager a person
always have to cater through a number of tasks in the same time. There are various instances in
my professional career where I had to prioritize tasks and complete it within the given deadlines.
I always believed that teamwork is important to achieve difficult milestones in the workplace. As
a sales manager at TESCO, I had to look after the sales management as well as customer
relationship management departments. This was tough, as it required doing two thins
simultaneously. In such a situation, I divided my team into two segments where one looked at the
sales management and another looked into CRM. I was always available to my subordinates
whenever they wanted any kind of help or strategic directions at work. This division of labour
and putting the right resources to work was my strategy to maintain effective work and the
outcome was productive and favourable.
5.Tell us about a project you worked on that required you to persuade others to your point
of view (what did you do and what was the outcome?)
Being a manager or assistant manager at any organization will always bring me in situations
where I have to persuade people on the decisions that I will take. Such a situation did arise in my
working tenure at Tesco. I was the one in the company who made a point to the senior managers
that advertising and selling through others would help the organization increase its profit
percentage by multiple folds. The senior managers were quite apprehensive about the idea that I
have put in the company as they thought that, selling through others would decrease the brand
value of the organization. In addition to this, the senior managers also thought that this would
decrease the market share for the organization among the other competitors. However, through
practical presentations and showing them the statistics on effectives selling through others I was
able to persuade the senior managers that it is a good idea for Tesco to start selling through
others in order to increase its sales percentage and increase its revenue earnings.
