Research Question
What attributes attract people to jobs?
Sampling to answer the research question
Sampling is done in order to determine mathematically the most effective way to acquire
a sample that would accurately reflect the population under study (Saunders, 2011). To answer
the above research question, both probability and non-probability sampling can be taken.
Probability Sampling
Participants of study will be those people who applied for job or have work experience.
By using stratified sampling method, the sample of population will be taken. The population in
stratified sampling is divided into different groups which are called as strata (Research
Methodology, 2018). In the study, groups will be divided into two in which first group will be of
people who applied for job for first time and second group will be of people who have
experience of one or more years.
Nonprobability Sampling
In non-probability sampling, chance of selecting any particular member is unknown
(Saunders and Lewis, 2012). It is because; statistical interference would not be made from
sample and the sample proportionally represents population which is relevant for quota variables.
Thus, quota sampling will be used.

The role of literature review in academic research
Role of literature review is to explore and map out the existing literature in any given
study to indicate elements which have been studied. Also, it states the way of carrying out study
along with its outcomes (Hart, 2018). Role of literature review in academic research is to
construct a robust and effective theoretical framework by comparing and contrasting the
viewpoints of authors and researchers.

Literature review plays a crucial part in academic research. By carrying out good
literature review, researcher can provide efficient information to the readers. The key feature of a
good literature review are: Systematic: A key feature of literature review is that it must be systematic and coherent.
Researcher must ensure that author’s viewpoints are explicitly linked and synchronised in
the study. Rigorous: Literature review must be extremely thorough and carefully structured.
Researcher must ensure that in his literature review, each and every theory which has
been discussed is linked with the viewpoints of authors. Informative: The purpose of carrying out literature review is to provide detailed
information to readers (Booth, Sutton and Papaioannou, 2016). Researcher can ensure
that their literature review is informative by evaluating it by analysing various sources.
 Insightful: Another key feature of literature review is that it must be accurate and
provide in-depth understanding about perspective. Researchers can ensure this by
analysing different articles and journals.
Plan for literature review
In order to search for the literature, I will seek authentic sources like Emerald Insights,
Google Scholar, etc. to obtain relevant articles, books and journals. I will further search on
different websites which provide reliable and authentic information. At first, I will navigate to
Google Scholar as it contains large amount of authentic articles and journals. Through this, I will
be able to carry out my literature review in an effective and efficient manner.
