 I am here to talk about Job hunting skills.
 I’m going to talk about three main points under that topic

State structure
 I’ll begin by looking at the job Application skills
 Then I’ll tell you about jobs through networking
 Then I’ll conclude by examining the last job hunting skills, which entails
Approaching companies, volunteer work and attending informational
interviews.

 I am positive that nobody among the audience will walk out of this room
empty handed. At the end of this session, all of us will walk home with
something new added to their basket of knowledge.

 Let me briefly tell you my story. After graduating from college, like any
typical young man, I walked out confident that I would get a decent job
and settle down. But this wasn't the case, in fact, it took me so many
years to secure a temporary job. All that while I never noticed that I was
my obstacle. I later realized that the problem here was my poor job
hunting skills. I am however happy that I never gave up because if I did,
I would not be here today. Through my experience, I have learned the
need to work hard, be determined and keep chasing dreams. So I am
here today to also impart the same to you.

Job Application skills
 Application is the first step in the process of securing a job.
 Various tools such as cover letters, CVs and linkdin profiles all are
meant to help portray an image to the employer of who you really are.
(Burns, O. D. (2018).
 Caution must therefore be taken so as not to portray a bad image to the
employer which might cost one failure to get the job.
 They also contain all the information regarding the job seeker.

Jobs through networking
 Networking, or being wired, entails connecting with others, either known
or not known to you to create a chance for new opportunities. It involves
building good relationships with others.
 With the right networks, a lot of doors of great opportunities can actually
open up, with others being the start of successful and rewarding
careers. It is therefore important to always make friends and build
relationships with others to open up that window of opportunity.

Approach companies, volunteer
work, informational interviews
 Here, the job seeker is required to portray a rather high level of
aggressiveness, by walking in to companies seeking information on
available job openings.
 Job seekers also seeks advice on their various career choices so as to
adjust or make the right decisions. (Manoogian, M. M., & Cannon, M. L.
(2018)
 Volunteer work also give individuals a chance to sharpen their skills on
various jobs and also build their experience through the exposure to the
industry.
