Chapter 1: Introduction
Globalisation is one of those raising matters, which are tantalising the world of retail industry. It
has become a global concern to maximise the off shoring ventures. There is a possibility that can
be capitalised to ensure a proficient in development of proper revenue generation. The
management process associated with off shoring ventures might be different and the research is
going to put some more emphasis on this concern. Globalisation can be defined as a business
venture considered by respective organisation to make sustainable and profitable development in
an off-shoring business development region.
Organisational background
The organisation that has been considered for conducting a research related to globalisation and
its effects on the business management process is John Lewis. John Lewis is one of those
organisations that can introduce fashion statement the world has never seen before and it is
considered as a dominant name in the style statement creation. The company was founded 188
years ago in 1864 and until now, the name has never been marred in the market (John Lewis &
Partners, 2019). The propositions of the organisation are flourishing day by day and revenue
generation at the year-end is a proficient reflection to it. The founder of the institution is John
Lewis himself and the headquarter is in London, England.
Reason for the choice of topic
Globalisation is a raising concern and every organisation with the capability of performing
significantly can have a major benefits associated with it. It is seen that the management process
of an organisation makes it more convenient to perform proficiently. Understanding the global
fashion trend is necessary to make proficient impact on the business management in a broader
spectrum (Mullen and Berrill, 2015). Emancipating the trade liability and breaking border to mix
with the culture is a raising concern and every organisation needs to be aligned with that. The
topic is going to elucidate those aspects, which can be faced as an issue in a globalised prospect
venture in Romania.

The aim of the project is to identify the effect of globalisation on the business expansion of John
Lewis in Romanian territory
The objectives of the research are
 To identify the potential issues that might hamper the globalised venture of John Lewis
 To gather information on the globalised ventures considered by the different
organisations to avoid issues
 To analyse the data in order to have better ideology to make proficient change in the
business management of John Lewis
 To recommend changes that can lead the globalised venture of John Lewis to make a
significant change in business management process in Romania

Introduction
The term literature review can be justified as a process, which is going to help in making a
proficient logical deduction in analysis of the processes that are associated with a particular
concern. The process is helpful in analysis of the trends that are associated with a particular
concern and in this aspect; a documented option will be available to make logical deduction.
Globalisation and related aspects
According to Colander (2017), globalisation is not only related with companies but it a thought
that has intrigued several ideologies to form and make proficient impact on the business
management process. On the other hand, it is observed that the management process is associated
with engrossing features that are a collective example of the trends that are mainly derived from
situational analysis. Globalisation is a thought that is associated with the expansion of business
from one region to another and being mixed with the culture to make significant change in the
business management process. The next thing that should be considered is analysing the
management issues associated with the process management and thinking of an organisation. I
accordance with Yeung (2017), it is often seen that the globalised approach of an organisation is
stumbled but there is always a way to channelize the threats. There will be some issues always
but organisations need to have a rational viewpoint and globalisation teach the management to
make the people believe that the business management process needs to have some
diversification to ensure an enthralling productivity.
Different positive and negative sides of globalisation
The best thing that has been introduced by globalisation is having a major concern associated
with the geographical expansion. According to Hines (2019), it is observed that the issues
associated with the business management process are related with the better kind of business
proposition and it is often seen that management of an entirely new area becomes more
problematic. Issues need to be assured and in accordance with that, the management process has
to think of new regulations. Introduction of a new ideology is an important thing to be
considered but for that, the consequences can be very as well. According to Mun et al. (2017),

development of an idea often comes from the most irrelevant and undecided sources and it is a
major factor to be considered as well. There have been many concerns that are associated with
the business management process and in the long run this will help in making significant changes
as well. The benefit is having a diversified culture and having a better value proposition as well.
Possibilities of having change management processes are there but it is also important to assure a
significant change that can be done by not changing the situation where the service providers are
planning to deal in. Different thoughts and technical modification is a big thing to consider as
positive side for business enhancement.
The negative side of the globalisation is a totally new territory where the service providers may
have to compromise with the context and quality of the market. It is a major aspect to take into
consideration in order to make a significant impact. According to Scholte (2017), the possibility
of having issues related with change management and supply chain is dominant there and in the
long run, this will be a major concern if not eradicated properly. Apart from that, there are issues
like making changes in the management and understanding the cultural diversity. Some of the
cases, it takes more time than usual in order to make a change possible. In some cases, it is seen
that the management often tries to make modification without knowing what the situation
demands because they do not have any idea of what is needed in a situation where almost
everything is new.

that the business proposals of differ organisations make significant impact on the external and
internal aspects as well. It is often seen that the management process is aligned with the
understanding and propagation of proper business management. In accordance with Otočan
(2017), the main thought is having a proper kind of analysis of the issues and making a
significant impact on the business management process. It is often seen that the approach has
made some wrong moves and it is a major concern for the business development process. The
issues associated with the business management process are aligned with the critical thinking and
making a proficient impact on the business enhancement and analyse allocations. This is a major
to consider and it is important for and organisation to ensure a positive change in the system.
According to Sanusi (2016), he ideas associated with the process are manageable and for that,

The above-mentioned literature review has majorly focused on the business development aspects
and it is observed that the management process is associated with the analysis of the matters in a
significant manner. The business management is associated with the issues settlement as well.
The process of thinking in a positive manner is associated with the analysis of the issues and in
the coming future; it is going to ensure a proficient and productive return as well. The literature
review has mainly focused on the positive and negative sides of the business management
process in a globalised venture.
Literature Gap
The literature review has not emancipated on the business management process from on a drastic
manner. The literature has not focused on the statistical data, which is a major factor for
conducting a research and a data analysis. Apart from that, recommendations for business
development have not been provided which is a major gap in the literature.

Chapter 3: Research Methodology
Introduction
The research methodology is a process, which helps in making a proficient impact on the
business development process. A research methodology gives proper direction of approach to the
people who are conducting a research.
Research Philosophy- Research Philosophies make sure that the approach process is associated
with the philosophy. It is a necessary aspect to consider. The research philosophy justifies the
concern of people. There have been many issues that are propagated in a research; and a strong
philosophy makes sure that the initiation is being managed properly (Kumar, 2019). The research
philosophy associated with this is process is Positivism. Positivism is a helpful philosophy that
makes significant impact on the research as they are mainly considering the factual data set to
make proficient analysis.
Research Design- The research design that will be considered in this research is explanatory
research. In most of the cases, these types of researches give major emphasis on the factual data
analysis and for their proposition, explanatory research design is the most effective option
(Mackey and Gass, 2015). There have been many aspects associated with the research and it is
going to ensure that the data set has been selected in accordance with proper requirement of the
research.
Research Approach- There could have many kinds of approaches, but to conduct the research
the approach that will be considered is deductive. The deductive approach makes data analysis
easier, as it is related with gathering information from the available sources. The data is only
collected and then analysed and this make the research progress easier.
Data Collection- the data collection processes can be of various kinds and that is dependent on
the source of information gaining. The data will be gathered from the primary sources and in a
quantitative manner (Brannen, 2017). The primary resources can be anything like survey,
interview and many other firsthand sources. In this research, the researcher will go for surveys.
Data Analysis- the data analysis process that will be taken into consideration is quantitative.
Quantitative data sources are mainly statistical evidences of a particular topic. The research will

have a detailed report of the quantitative data analysis process as it is considered the legit source
of collecting the data from a set amount of resources. The data derived in this firsthand
experience is raw and can be interpreted easily.
Sampling- The sampling process, which the researcher will consider in this case, is random. In
order to conduct the research the researcher will have a few amounts of people from the
employee line up and then random sampling process will ensure a proper set of respondents for
the research and this will make the outcome of the research more proficient and the data
collected can be more relied to provide conclusion and recommendation.
Ethical Consideration- The researcher will consider that the identity secrecy is a major factor in
a research. No person will be forced for giving an answer for the research. Apart from that, the
researcher will maintain the Data Protection 2018,s regulations to avoid any legal threats
(Legislation.gov.uk, 2019). The respondents will be given with the flexibility of taking their
names back from the research and if they want, they will be allowed to deny giving answer to a
question.
