INTRODUCTION
The aim of the present report is to highlight a reflection on the basis of the Driscoll model
of reflection. The report covers PESTLE and SWOT analysis upon the company John Lewis
which is a UK based international firm that offers clothing, beauty products, lightning %
furniture, etc. The report includes an external and internal analysis of the firm. The Driscoll
model talks about three main questions that is what, so what, and now what about the learning
cycle experience related to the report.
MAIN BODY
PESTLE analysis
Political. The political environment in respect to John Lewis Company is unfavorable
because of high variation in trade policy among different countries full stop there is also
an uncertainty in export and import of goods or services which brings hurdle within the
organization.
Economical. The impact of economic fluctuations are increasing in different costs that
are included in the process of manufacturing brings a disturbance in the smooth flow of
the company. On the other hand, with a frequency shift in consumer spending towards
clothing and beauty products it's difficult for John Lewis to adapt and react frequently.
Social. The social factor in respect to John Lewis Company proves a favorable as the
company is now more focused upon offering healthy food, publishing more information
about the product as well as their safety concerns.
Technological. The company is accelerated towards the online channels for its
advertisement and sales which is acting as a benefit for the company because nowadays

different countries where it is operating? The in the environmental regulations but
neglected by the phone in past which results into a brand loss for the company.

practices in true into its business as well as growing its concern upon the impact of its

Step 1 what: This stage includes a brief description upon the situation of the experiences
being reflected during the conduct of this report, what are the things that exactly
happened and I did full stop in respect to the present report I have experienced difficulty
in completing the project but I was successful in doing this on time. The report asked me
about the pestel in SWOT analysis of John Lewis company and for this, I conducted
thorough research related to the topic and as mentioned the word upon companies
external and internal environment this was a good experience for me because through this
research I got a deeper understanding about the internal and external environment which
a company faces or operates in its business.
Step 2, so what: This stage includes a feeling that I felt at a specific moment and reaction
doing the project. This also includes a feeling of the past situation and present situation
full stop in relation to the report based on John Lewis company I felt that I was lacking
behind inappropriate information related to the topic but I didn't react in a negative way
and took this as positive learning for my success. I reacted to this because this will help
me in future whenever I apply such a concept. Yes, I definitely think that the past
situation has an influence upon my experience because in past I was having knowledge of
everything positive the company but after the study, I felt that John Lewis is a great and
favourable impact from the external environment.
Step 3, now what: This stage involves a reflection on what I have learnt from the
situation or experienced any negative outcomes that I have prevented along with the way
through which I have done such things. This stage also includes a different way of doing
the same situation if it occurs in future. With respect to the present report, I have learnt a
practical application of pestel and SWOT analysis on the company and experienced a
good knowledge of the related topics. The negative outcome which I have analysed is
that John Lewis company is having a negative influence from the external environment
which hinders the company's performance and growth. If I face a similar situation in
future then I'll be successfully able to complete the project on time and give my best to
the course as through this report I got a deeper knowledge about the topic.

From the above report it can be concluded that for a successful business it is important to
analyse the external and internal analysis so that company can know its driving forces as well as
its strengths & weakness. A Driscoll model can be applied in order to have an effective reflection
upon the report and topic.
