1. Description: Describe the policy purpose and concept, what prompted this
proposed policy (e.g., legislation, perceived need). Does a policy already
exist?
_The purpose of this recycle policy is to set standards in the Joondalup Resort for
recycling and minimizing waste for supporting sustainability. The perceived need
and importance of waste management prompted the proposal of this policy. The
need of waste reduction and the negative impacts of waste in the environment
led to the formulation of the recycle policy. There is no existing recycle policy in
the Joondalup Resort.

2. A) What policy options may have been evaluated and discounted in the
formulation of this policy?
B) Would these options have been communicated to stakeholders in the same
way as this final policy?
C). What organisational procedures would have to be followed for this
consultation?
_A) The National Waste Policy of Australia would have been evaluated in
formulating the Recycle Policy of Joondalup Resort. This policy aims to avoid
waste generation, ensure sound waste treatment, minimize emission of
greenhouse gas and increase land productivity. The other policy options would
include National Greenhouse and Energy Reporting Act 2007, National
Environment Protection Council Act 1994, Waste Avoidance and Resource
Recovery Act 2007, Environmental Protection Act 1986, Waste Avoidance and
Resource Recovery Levy Regulations 2008 and Waste Avoidance and Resource
Recovery Levy Act 2007.
B) Yes, these options would have been communicated to the stakeholders in the
same way like this policy.
C) A meeting between the shareholders of the resort needs to be conducted for
discussing the need for formulating the recycle policy. The importance of the
mentioned policy options must be discussed in details. The sustainability
committee of the resort must be consulted after taking final decisions for setting
up the recycle policy. The shareholders must agree to same terms and conditions

products and recycling of packaging materials that have been used before. Waste
minimization is the main aim of this Act.
Waste Avoidance and Resource Recovery Levy Regulations 2008: This regulation
promotes waste reduction by adopting waste avoidance strategy and promotes the
reuse of waste materials.
