Gratefulness or thankfulness is the quality of showing gratitude and appreciation
towards a person or anything that has made a positive influence on life. Taking this
opportunity to reflect on my feelings, I would like to express my gratefulness towards my
paternal grandmother who, by all means, has made an affirmative influence on my life that is
highly appreciable.
I mindfully acknowledge the contributions my paternal grandmother has had in my
upbringing. I cheerfully and generously agree that her approach towards my wellbeing and
safety has been noteworthy. My grandmother came to stay with us when I was born only to
take care of me as both my parents were working. Since then, she has been an inseparable
part of life without whom my life is incomplete. My grandmother had been a retired school
teacher, and through her life stories, she had continually motivated me, to be honest, decent
and trustworthy. Since my parents were busy with their professional life, equally important to
provide me with a respectable lifestyle, it was my grandmother who had given me the much-
needed care, support and help at every stage. For a child, the physical presence of a guardian
makes a huge difference, and I am grateful to my grandmother that I never felt the absence of
my parents at times of need.
My gratitude towards my grandmother would always remain in my heart. I would
cherish the moments spent with her and would surely walk in the path of integrity,
truthfulness, sincerity and courage shown by her.
