What would you use for primary, secondary, and tertiary prevention for J.S.?
As far as the primary prevention is concerned I will try to give her the best treatments that
Welcome to Medicare has. Counseling is one of the most vital for her.
I would recommend counseling for her as she has a very horrible past. She has been
brought up in a very horrible situation. Both her parents are in a very poor health condition. They
are suffering from deadly diseases and are almost fighting for their lives (Kennedy-Malone et al.,
2018). She was in a habit of smoking for several years. Apart from this, even after her marriage
she did not have a stable life. No one cared to know about her. Thus, there is a high chance that
she might go into state of depression.
For secondary prevention I will check for the diabetes tests as they are hereditary in
nature (National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine., 2016). There is a chance
that J.S might develop it from her family. I will also suggest mammography as her half sister has
been suffering from breast cancer disease. For the tertiary condition, I will be requiring time as
currently of sign of disease is being seen.
Give and explain an example of each prevention method.
Primary prevention-I will be looking for a consultation with some mental health
experts. As J.S herself works as a mental health technician she might get disturbed by seeing
many critical cases and recall her past. Apart from this, she has no one to look after her. She also
has a horrible past. All these might have created a huge pressure on her mind. Thus, I would

consult a mental health expert or psychiatrist. Thus, a regular mental health check up is of utmost
need. This will be done through the Medicare Welcome visit and by keeping the objectives of
HEALTHY PEOPLE 2020 in mind.
Secondary prevention
I will make sure that J.S is coming for all the necessary tests. Though she is currently not
suffering from any disease but at the same time there are chances that she might end up having
some severe issues. Screening tools are to be used in case of the secondary prevention. I would
want her to undergo mammography as her half sister had the same. Apart from this, sugar and
blood tests are also suggested as there is a chance for developing the same. Though there is no
record of J.S currently that shows any high dose of blood sugar or diabetic content. However
there is a risk factor that we cannot ignore. Apart from this, I will also ask her to undergo tests
like hemoglobin, TCDC and other tests.
As far as the tertiary prevention is concerned, I will recommend checking the high
blood pressure and high sugar level and also an abnormal heart rate per minute. I consider these
as some of the very vital signs and these must be taken care of properly so that we can minimize
the further chances of any production (National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and
Medicine., 2016).Thus, I will suggest J.S to visit a nutritionist and health expert. This will help
J.S to make sue start living a healthy life and have a healthy diet.
