This research proposal investigates the capabilities of junior emergency nurses in the triage zone, specifically their ability to identify severely ill patients in Saudi Arabia. The study aims to assess the nurses' competence in this critical role, exploring the consequences of early or late detection of serious cases and how to avoid late deductions. The proposal includes a comprehensive literature review on triage systems, the role of nurses, triage scales, and influencing factors. It discusses the challenges of assigning junior nurses to triage and the potential impact on patient outcomes, emphasizing the importance of experience and skill in recognizing urgent conditions. The research questions address the nurses' capabilities, the consequences of late deductions, and strategies for improvement. The study's findings are expected to contribute to the enhancement of emergency care practices and patient management plans.
