In recent times, most of the teachers in the world are facing issues regarding the
management of the needs of the students and thereby they are facing unnecessary criticism
from the parents of the child as well. According to my opinion, it is one of the serious
problems around the world and I believe the condition should be addressed in order to
enhance the teachers’ performance in the school and it may also help the teachers to perform
in a better manner. Therefore, it can be stated that, the performance of the teachers will also
contribute to the overall development of the society. In numerous studies, it is reported that,
the most of the teachers are not getting adequate support and recognition from the school and
as well as from the society. Due to the linguistic barriers the aboriginal teachers also face
severe challenges regarding getting adequate support from the school settings (Freeman &
Staley, 2018). It is reported that, teacher mainly face issues to deliver education to a wide
range of students in case of government aid school mainly as the government school provide
admission to all type of students unlike the private schools. As a result of this diverse nature
of the students the teachers of such schools may have difficulties in meeting all the
requirements of the students (Stagg & Bossu, 2016). Hence, I feel in order to use the noble
service of teaching in the purpose of common good, the teachers must be provided adequate
supports by the students and by their parents as well.
The concept of common good refers to the belongings of an individual that can be used in
the wellness of the overall humanity. Along with this, it is reported that, the common is good
is the accumulation of the social condition that allows an individual to live the life with
having the overall facility of the society as well. The concept of common aims to provide
benefits to all the individuals of the society instead of targeting a specific group or a few
people of the society. It helps to meet the needs such as physical, spiritual, intellectual of all
the individuals of different dimensions present in the society (Schröder, 2016). The presence
of common good concept in the society mainly helps in the overall development of the

society. However, it is not always true that, the meeting the needs of all individuals is
synchronous to the concept of common good. As a part of the society, it is the duty of the
schools to take part in promotion of the common good by proving proper support to the
teachers who are the builders of good human being of the society (Keller & Ortega-Aponte,
2015).
From various sources, it is reported that, teachers are not all getting adequate support from
the students and from the school authorities as well in the indigenous community setting. Due
to lack of proper support, the those teachers aboriginal groups of are not able to perform their
jobs in a proper manner (Freeman & Staley, 2018). According to the study of Taft and Cahill
(2017), it is reported that, lack of experiences among the teachers is associated with the lack
of supports provided to the teachers as well. Not only this, in another study, it is stated that,
providing adequate amount of support to the teachers will help in the overall performances of
the teachers regarding their teaching abilities. So, I suggest that, all of the teachers should get
proper support from the schools and from the side of the parents and it may help in growth of
their performance as a teacher. Therefore I believe that, the improvement in the support
system to the teachers will motivate them to pursue their job properly and thereby improve
the literacy rate of the society. Therefore, if the teachers are motivated in their jobs they can
teach more students and thereby it will help in gaining the common good in terms of
enhancing the overall literacy rate of the society. As per the concept of Catholic Social
Thoughts, it is believed that teachers are respected and valued for promoting the common
goods in the society and the teachers should be motivated for endorsing the common good as
well (Garner & Forbes, 2015).
Therefore, I believe that inadequate support to the teachers is hampering the common
good of the society by hampering the overall performances of the teachers in the way of

common good. So, I recommend to arrange proper support system for the teachers so that
they can take part in the common good process.
