Introduction/Background
JWD consulting has undertaken the project of development of intranet site project to
improve the operational efficiency of the organization. The report aims in comparing the
predictive and the agile approach in management and implementation of the intranet site project.
Both the approaches of project implementation and management differs. The report provides
recommendations on the appropriate approach of project implementation.
Comparison of Agile and Predictive Approach
The management and implementation approach of agile and predictive approach differs
and for therefore a significant difference can be observed in implementing the JWD project with
predictive approach or with agile approach. The differences are indicated as follows-

On analyzing the JWD consulting case, it can be indicated that the project management
team has a clear goal and objective for their intranet site project. The case indicates that the team
has spent significant amount of time in establishing the project objective and has planned the
project in such a manner that it can be executed within the set budget. Since, the key objective
and implementation approach of the project has already been set with several project initiation
meetings and brain storming sessions, the use of predictive approach for the JWD project is
recommended. The agile approach is not recommended as it might delay the entire life cycle of
the project. Also, the technical risks in the project may not be correctly identified using agile
method. Thus, the choice of predictive approach is justified for successful implementation of
JWD consulting project.
