INTRODUCTION
Community engagement is defined as the process in which people are ready to work in a
collaborative manner. The purpose of community engagement is addressing issues that affect on
well being of people (Brunton and et.al., 2017). It is found that community engagement is the
powerful tool for bringing out the behavioural and environmental changes that helps to improve
the health of community. There are many community issues that face by society and that's why
different community are focusing on community engagement so that they will the find the
solution of those issues. In this context, Keep Britain Tidy is undertaken which is the
independent charity that have three important goals which are elimination of litter, ending waste
and improving places. They are focusing on cleaning beaches, streets, and parks. It is identified
that their practices are tending towards elimination of unnecessary waste and sustainability in the
environment. This report will be cover description of project, relationship between stakeholders,
engagement with the use of social media, and internal and external factors that affects on
community development.

Keep Britain Tidy is the independent charitable organisation that is currently focusing on
eliminating waste from the society so that they can establish clean and tidy society. They have an
aim to eliminate litter and waste in order to improve environment. They are believing that this
work can be done with the help of more and more participation of people. That's why for them
community engagement is very important (Adhikari, Pell and Cheah, 2020). They are doing their
work with people, businesses, public bodies and organisations. It is identified that environment is
the necessity of our survival. Due to their campaigns, it is found that they are giving a great
impact on people attitude and behaviour as they are now start to change. Now people are
reducing to spread waste in streets. They are putting garbage bins in every street, beaches and
other places so that people get to know where they put litter. In addition to this, Keep Britain
Tidy gives a great impact on society as in 2015 they was introduced a campaign where they put
charges on single use plastic. It is found after revealing the data by Government that approximate
NINE BILLION bags are reduced due to their campaign (Nine billion less bags thanks to our

campaign, 2021). This can be become possible only because of community engagement as it is
not possible for a single person. That was the 83 % reduction in use of plastic bags which was
the great achievement for charity organisation. This is necessary for our society that they should
understand the importance of environment which can be destroy because of single use of plastics
(Tehan and et.al., 2017). This is not only beneficial for charity organisation but also many
stakeholders. The benefits that enjoy by stakeholder are mentioned below:
Society is the important stakeholders of Keep Britain Tidy and they enjoying many
benefits due to their initiative and their campaigns. With the help of their action, it is
found that there are many societies which reduce their wastage. It becomes very clean
societies.
There are many organisations which engage with Keep Britain Tidy so that they will be
able to fulfil CSR and get sustainable growth.
Relationship between the stakeholders and strategies are suitable for engagement
This is necessary for Keep Britain Tidy to maintain the good relations with their
stakeholders. It is identified that relationship plays an important role as it is not possible for Keep
Britain Tidy to achieve their targets without the participation of stakeholders. Their main aim is
to remove all waste from the beaches, streets, and other places so that they can maintain hygiene
and clean environment (Brooks and Davoudi, 2017). But it is impossible for one or two people.
It is the work where every people need to collaboratively working with this charity organisation
as then only they can achieve their objectives. For that purpose, it becomes crucial for Keep
Britain Tidy that they should formulate the strategies which assist them towards maintaining
healthy and strong relationships with the stakeholders. In this situation, they can use digital
media for direct contacting with their stakeholders.

Social media is becoming the most important tool for every kind of organisation whether
it is non profit organisation or profitable organisation. They can use this tool in order to connect
with the stakeholders. It is really helpful for charity organisation as they can easily increase the

After pandemic, it is identified that it become more important for society that they needs
to improve their places so that they can reduce the chances of viral. They are focusing on ending
waste as they analysed that millions of waste can be easily recycled and reusable (Nam and
Hwang, 2019). COVID-19 is the infectious disease which can be increase due to dirty
environment. In this situation, it is very important for Keep Britain Tidy that they should make
contacts with their stakeholders with the help of social media platforms. It is found that social
media platforms are the best tools which helps in interaction with their stakeholders. They are
motivating and inspiring other people that they should join their charity organisation for the
purpose of removing waste from the environment.

charity. In addition to this, it is analysed by an organisation that they should interact with their
stakeholders. This can be done with the help of social media platforms. It is the best tool for
organisations as it assists in direct contact with the stakeholders. This is necessary for Keep
Britain Tidy that they should maintain the relationships with their stakeholders so that they will
