The aim of this report is to define the role of every business function. Also, it clearly specifies
the way the business functions are linked to one another.
2. Evaluate the role/ importance of the following
business functions and show how they link together.
Marketing
This is that department pertinent to a company which carries out the role of making the
public aware of the products as well as services rendered by the corporation in the global landscape.
In this relation, this function of the company lays down the foundation to development of healthy
relations between the organisation and its customer base (Kotabe, 2020). Marketing function in KFC
helps to create a demand of its offerings in market by making a pitch to the potential customers
across the globe.
Finance
This function in an organisation holds the accountability for managing the finances or in
other terms, the funds of the company. In this relation, it can be stated that this function is engaged
in the stipulation of budget and consequent allotment of funds to every department as per the need
(Demmou, Franco and Stefanescu, 2020). This department in KFC makes sure that the expenses of
the firm do not exceed its budget, so that the entity does not undergo losses.
Human Resources
This organisation function is mainly responsible for administering the human resources
working within the lines of a company. With respect to this, it has been analysed that this function is
engaged in execution of practices such as performance management & appraisal, training &
development, recruitment & selection, learning & development, and so forth (Bustinza, Vendrell-
Herrero and Baines, 2017). By virtue of these activities or practices, the HR function within the
bounds of KFC ensures that a positive working atmosphere is created in the organisational premises.
Operations/ Production
This being the most important organisational function is engaged in the production of
products of the company. This helps in meeting the demand placed by the customers in global
market (Mahlangu, 2018). Within KFC, the production function is carried out in a manner which can
