WHAT IS LEADERSHIP?
The term "leadership" conjures up a wide range of images. Leadership is defined as
an individual's or a group's ability to influence and guide followers or other members of an
organisation. Leaders both help others and themselves do the right thing. In this report, I will
discuss Khairy Jamaluddin. Yang Berhormat (YB) Khairy Jamaluddin, Malaysia's Minister
of Youth and Sports, has earned the nicknames 'Daddy,' 'Abah,' and Tall, Dark, and
Handsome as a result of his generosity.
LEADERSHIP TRAITS AND SKILLS
a) AMBITIOUS
An ambitious leadership style is one in which a leader attempts to ensure that all
paradigms of shared missions are properly organised in order to achieve good results. Khairy
Jamaluddin sent out the first tweet in early August 2017 indicating that the SEA Games
would be held in a few days. Nonetheless, he has begun to instil a sense of patriotism in all
Malaysians by not only interacting with society through social media platforms, but also by
making himself visible in schools and participating in sporting events, one of which was the
Singapore Marathon. Khairy Jamaluddin has become well-known throughout the SEA Games
event, where he has received numerous interactions, ideas, and support as Minister of Youth
and Sports. Khairy Jamaluddin's Instagram was very active at the time because he always
uploaded his activities to the InstaStory. Furthermore, Khairy Jamaluddin is regarded as a
very ambitious leader, as he is constantly responding to tweets and disseminating

information. Furthermore, there were some mentions in his tweets by athletes thanking him
for getting updates on their performance.
b) PERFORMANCE MONITORING
Khairy Jamaluddin has demonstrated the significance of social media's ability to monitor
everyone's actions. He doesn't just keep an eye on his team. Furthermore, he demonstrated
some excellent examples of how to portray himself as a responsible individual by effectively
utilising his social media platforms such as Twitter and Instagram. The interactions between a
leader and an employee have demonstrated that Khairy Jamaluddin is a responsible leader by
visiting his athletes to provide support and obtain updates, despite only engaging in social
media, such as Adli Hafidz, a Malaysian boxing athlete. Apart from that, Khairy Jamaluddin
informed the Prime Minister via Twitter that other politicians are also supporting the SEA
Games event in order to encourage Malaysians to participate in the games by supporting our
national athletes.

a) RESPONSIBLE PERSON
One of Khairy's characteristics is that he is a responsible person. He is in charge of all
matters that need to be handled and will work to solve the problem. For example, consider the
issue of congestion and empty injections that occur during the administration of covid19
vaccines. The issue of empty injections is taken seriously by Khairy, and guidelines have
been issued to each vaccination worker to prevent a recurrence. Khairy said in a special
speech "Although the issue of empty injections is isolated and does not reflect the overall
implementation of PICK (National Covid 19 Immunization Program) in over 2000 PPVs
(Vaccine Centres) across the country, a mistake remains a mistake. I apologize. on the
incident and will continue to improve the shortcomings and mistakes to ensure that the same
thing does not continue to happen again ". This demonstrates that he is a responsible
individual.

LEADERSHIP POWER
On October 12, 2013, Khairy was re-elected as UMNO youth chief, defeating four
opponents. His re-election, along with the victories of three incumbent UMNO vice-
presidents, has been interpreted as evidence of continued support for Prime Minister Najib
Razak, as well as a sign that even the ruling party is not ready to fully embrace its more
conservative, pro-Mahathir wing. (Dr. Mahathir was particularly critical of Khairy's role in
the Prime Minister's Office during the reign of his successor, Abdullah Badawi.)
