Flipped classroom can be defined as the learning environment where activities such as
homework which are traditionally completed out of the classroom environment are now
completed in the duration of the class time (Schmidt and Ralph 2016). It is the platform where
learners are introduced to the contents at the home and initiate practice of working it in the
school classroom. This bending approach of learning and the face to face interaction and
communication are vividly connected with the independent approaches of learning via the
technological advancements. This cutting edge approach towards learning in the flipped
classroom is currently the hot topic and is being practiced and followed widely in the renowned
Khan Academy.
Are the approaches of the technological advancements in the learning simply objectifying the
industrialized approach of learning for business profit in the name of free education for all?
The nonprofit organization, Khan Academy aims to provide world class free education and
learning to everyone in the world via the concept of flipped classroom study. The concept of
bringing the homework to the classroom and taking the class work at the home includes lots of
criticism and problems of e-learning and flipped classrooms of the Khan Academy (Khan 2011).
Decentering role of learners, questions regarding the quality of the teachers and the clarity of the
communication together with the chance for self directed critical though process are some of the
essential factors that addresses and outlines the issues of the process of learning and teaching in
the Khan Academy (Zengin 2017). To address the issues, Khan Academy introduced new ways
to ensure that the teachers in the academy are able to do natural conclusion. Ways included a
more competent version of actual exercises. The Academy aims to generate as many questions as
required until the learner is clear with his or her concept and until the learner score 10 percentile
for the exercise in a row. The Academy targets to use actual steps for the issues that enable a

learner to move on just after scoring 10 in a row (Khan Academy 2018). This paradigm is
fundamentally different from that of classroom one to one study. In the context of study of
mathematics, the academy portrays the implementation of an effective model to learn math just
like the way a learner can learn anything like the process of riding a bicycle. Staying and falling
off the bicycle. The academy targets to implement the learning model which focuses on the
entire learner to keep practicing until the learner is achieving mastery (Khan 2011). The concept
and the values of the academy differ a lot from the traditional system and that off the basic
concept of flipped classroom. The academy encourages its learners to experiment and fail unlike
the other model in their pathway towards mastery and success in learning (Khan Academy
2018). The Khan academy propagates the effective use of technology not just in the context of
flipping classroom but in the effort of humanizing the learning classes. Flipping in the classroom
is of real benefit. The teachers as well as the parents should encourage the use of the upgraded
technology and flipping classroom. So hurry up and enroll yourself and your children to the
classes and the online tutorials of khan academy to experience a high quality education system
that too in free of cost !
