of the overall business. Strategies management can be regarded as one of those aspects. In the

executives of the companies are required to consider both the structure of the organizations as
well as management capability for the success of the companies (Hill, Jones and Schilling 2014).

Task 2
One major objective of King is to maintain effective functionality of their business
operations. For this reason, the company has developed certain organizational structure that can
insert functionality in the business and thus, they follow the organizational hierarchical structure
for organizational structure. The Chief Executive Officer is at the top of the organizational
structure. Some major difference of the organizational structure of King can be seen with the
other companies as the presence of many senior level business executives can be seen in the
organizational structure of King for promoting functionality (Rothaermel 2015). These senior
level business executives are Chief Operating Officer, Chief Creative Officer, Chief Strategy
Officer, Chief Technology Officer, Chief People Officer and Chief Legal Officer. At the same
time, the presence of Vice Precedent of the company is there in the organizational structure of
King. The main responsibility of these senior level managers is to maintain the flow of
functionality in different operational dimension of the business of King like technology, strategy,
people, legal compliance and others. After this level, the next step of the organizational structure
of King consists of many managers such as human resource managers, finance manager,
marketing manager and many others. Hence, it can be observed from the above discussion that
the main reason for effective functionality of King is their unique organizational structure that
includes senior management personnel from different operational areas (Rothaermel 2015).
Task 3

Approach to Management. The emergence of this management approach can be seen from the
self-life experience of the managers as they have found the fact that no single approach of
management works in every organizational situations (Otley 2016).
This theory states that the management of the companies are needed to adopt specific
management approaches based on the uniqueness of every situation. For this reason, this
contingency approach of management can well be applied in King for improving the
functionality. Under the adoption of this management approach, the senior management of King
will be required to design actions and approaches by considering the uniqueness of a particular
situation as they will not be applicable for any other situation. It implies that there is not any best
practice in management as all approaches depend on the situations (Ryu and Lee 2013).
For this reason, the managers of King are needed to consider all the internal as well as
external variables at the time of decision-making process as analysis as well as assessment of
these variables will help them in developing the suitable approach to tackle the situations. For
this reason, contingency approach is considered as both analytical and situational. Under this
approach, the management of King is needed to adopt themselves in every situation foe getting
the best possible solution of the management related issues. At the same time, the policies and
procedures of the management of King should be responsive of the internal and external business
environment (Huczynski, Buchanan and Huczynski 2013).
Task 4
For the purpose of the analysis of organizational culture Charles Handy invented a
specific model or framework in the year 1932 and it is known as the Charles Handy’s Cultural

Framework. In this framework, there are four types of cultures within the business
organizations and the following figure shows that:

(Source: Cacciattolo 2014)
POWER: In many organizations all over the world, few people have the power in their hands.
After that, the delegation of responsibilities can be seen among the lower level managers and
employees in the companies. For this reason, they lack the scope of expressing their views but to
follow the orders of upper management. However, different situation can be seen in King as the
higher level management of the company provides their employees and staffs with the
opportunity to express their views and ideas and it is an essential factor for success (Cacciattolo
2014).

TASK CULTURE: The management of King carries on the business operations by dividing the
whole taskforce in different teams and these teams include employees with common
specialization and interest. In these teams, equal contribution can be seen from the team
members for achieving the organizational goals and objectives (Janićijević 2013).
PERSON CULTURE: Earlier discussion shows the presence of Chief People Officer in the
organizational structure of King in order to take care all the needs and other aspects of the
employees as well as staffs. This aspect shows the presence of people culture in the organization
(Cacciattolo 2014).
ROLE CULTURE: It is the responsibility of the higher level management of King for the
delegation of responsibilities as well as roles among the employees on the basis of needs of the
company along with specialization and interest (Janićijević 2013).
Task 5
The presence of strategic management objectives is needed for the companies in order to
be successful as well as sustainable in future as these objectives provide the companies with the
necessary direction to get to the desired position. The following discussion involves in the use of
Ansoff Matrix and Porter’s Generic Strategy Matrix in order to derive two strategic
objectives of King:

ANSOFF MATRIX
Figure 2: Ansoff Matrix
(Source: Hussain et al. 2013)
There are four different aspect in the above figure. The introduction of new product and
the development of new market represent two aspects; they are product development and market
development. Diversification of business comes under diversity. The formulation of new strategy
in order to encourage buying comes under marker penetration (Proctor 2014).
Based on the Ansoff Matrix, Market Development needs to be the first strategic objective
of King and it implies to enter into the new market by putting focus on the existing customers of
the company. For this, the requirement is the target of new geographical market so that the
company can use different sales channels to increase the sales (Hussain et al. 2013).

PORTER’S GENERIC STRATEGY MATRIX
Figure 1: Porter’s Generic Strategy Matrix
(Source: Teeratansirikool et al. 2013)
The above figure shows the presence of four aspects. Increase in profit by the reduction
of cost is the result of cost leadership. Putting focus on specific niche market segment is the
result of cost focus. The development of new and attractive products and services is the outcome
of differentiation (Griffin 2013).
Based on the Porter’s Generic Strategy Matrix, the adoption of product differentiation
strategy needs to be the next strategic objective of King. As a part of this strategic objective, the
main target of the company will be the introduction of new product and services in the market
that will be attractive and beneficial as compared to their competitors. This strategy will

differentiate King from its major competitors that will provide the company with the necessary
competitive advantage (Teeratansirikool et al. 2013).
Conclusion
The above discussion indicates towards the fact that the organizational structure of King
is a main influencer of functionality in the business operations of the company. At the same time,
the above discussion shows that King can adopt the contingency approach of management as it
will provide the management with the opportunity to manage the organizational issues in better
manner. As per the outcome of model analysis of Charles Handy, cultural aspects have major
positive effects on the business. Two major strategic management objective of King are market
development and differentiation of products and services.
