INTRODUCTION
There have been many types of services provided with the aim to define the clarity and
transparency in terms of the many sectors. In the UK there have been many different hospitals,
among which the King's College Hospital has been recognized as the most popular hospital in
terms of providing the facilities to its patients and to its staffs (Slack and Brandon-Jones, 2018).
It is situated in Denmark Hill, Camberwell in London. The facilities within the hospital are
managed by the King’s College NHS Foundation. The hospital also serves as the practicing
hospital for the new doctors. It has been served as the best hospital in the case of accident and
emergency (Slack and Brandon-Jones, 2018).
The hospital has maintained the quality of service by focusing on the issues related to the
supply chain, supporting the marketing strategies within which it serves. It also includes the
various service systems which provide the relaxation to its patients (Slack and Brandon-Jones,
2018). Despite all these factors, there have been many theories which are applied over the
hospital management system, which serves helpful in determining the factors which define the
sustainability in the organizational practices such as the social, economic and the
environmental factors (Slack and Brandon-Jones, 2018).

There are many hospitals established in all over the world, among which the King’s College
serves as the largest hospital in London along with the busiest hospital in terms of teaching. It
has been ruling over the hearts of its patients since the last 170 years (Hugos, 2018). They are
caring for patients who belong mostly from the deprived communities in London. It offers the
treatment of many diseases such as diabetes, liver plantation etc. giving the assurance of the
proper and specific treatment which helps in the fast recovery of the patients. In its past years,
the hospital has also served to the poor people, soldiers wounded in the wars (Hugos, 2018). It
ensures that the staff or the employee kept for giving the services to its patients must have
sufficient knowledge in the medical field which serves its patients with kindness and humanity
quality leading to the fast recovery of the patients (Hugos, 2018).
The King’s College at present has been trying to use the new strategies and the instruments by
which the treatment of the patient can be made more safe and easy. As the hospital has its own
foundation trust, it has the liability to run its own affairs and create the formal links among the
staffs and the patients of its hospital (Bryson, 2018). The progress of the hospital is defined by
its own team members and staff which works on the basic principles such as understanding the
problems of patients, working as an united team, defining the confidence within its patients
and the staffs, keeping the aims high, creating the difference among the community, promising
the new ways of progress to its patients are the basic principles upon which the ethics of the
hospital is based (Bryson, 2018).
The vision of the King’s College Hospital is to transform the King’s into the new kind of Trust
which can serve to its patients in terms of the local, national and international by increasing its
area contact over the world by creating the new links. It also aims in giving the best services to
its patients and the staff (Bryson, 2018).
The King’s College hospital also provides the center for the world-class teaching hospital and it
serves as the center for providing the specialist care to its patients. It has been also ranked
among the four best partners in terms of the academic health science center named as the
King's Health partners which aims to collaborate on the world research in order to become the

best medical research campus in Europe (Holloway, 2017). With the increase in the demands
for the high equipped technologies, there are many operations being applied within the
hospital such as the strategies of the chain management including the ERP, MRP, and OPT,
which helps to increase the demand for the new technologies and the theories, the trust
continues to face the challenges related to the financial and the operational which offers the
way to increase the balance between the realistic and the sound finances in terms of the series
related with the portfolio and the targets (Holloway, 2017).
To manage the operations it uses the advance theories due to which it has been able to
introduce the research laboratories such as the Mowat Paediatric Research laboratories where
the patients can be directly treated with the innovative technology (Reilly et al., 2016). It has
also developed the new technology for the children defined as the first MRI Virtual Reality app,
which also helps in reducing the use of the anesthesia among the young patients. Along with
these innovations (Reilly et al., 2016), it has also developed the 3D technology and the use of
the sound waves in the revolution of their cardiac services, the use of new therapies such as
light therapy has also been used in the treatment of insomnia among the patients (Reilly et al.,
2016).
There are many new ideas developed within the hospital and the trust in order to make the
hospital as the world’s best hospital in terms of its services and the treatment facilities (Tataru
et al., 2017). In the future the other members of the KHP will work in an united way to generate
as the tough competitor among the number of the globally competitive clinical institutes in the
field of academics leading to increase the support for the patients and the to make the strength
of the London more capable in the international centres in terms of the clinical academics
(Tataru et al., 2017). It has been also working with the local partners including the local
authorities of the Lambeth, Bromley, and Lewisham. The successful implementation of the huge
collaboration plan in the internal, as well as the external way, would generate the positive
change among its patients and the services defined within its communities (Tataru et al., 2017).
The name King’s gives the light upon the group of people who have been providing the best
possible ways and the ideas to make the hospital a comfortable place for its patients where
they can feel relax and comfortable, resulting in the increase of their recovery rate ( Nolden et

al., 2016). Due to which the hospital has been recognized for providing its best facilities in the
diseases such as it provides the best trauma center which makes it unique and special.
It used the delivery systems such as it introduced the "Safety Net" communication where the
safety of the patients, as well as the staff, was secured by determining the essential information
which rose from the adverse effects (Nolden et al., 2016). It also established the Tea Club for
patients suffering from dementia. Apart from these efforts the trust also introduced the iMobile
outreach service which was served as the evidence for reflecting the positive ways of the
patients and the services (Nolden et al., 2016).
The areas in the hospital which are focussed to be improved in the upcoming years are the
improvement in the staff within the hospital which could deal with the services of the trust,
introduction of the new policy related with the Tranquilisation (Charles et al., 2017),
improvement in the training and the programmes organized by the trust for its staff,
management of the medical records of the patient by the outpatient management. In order to
implement these improvements within the hospital, the CQC action plan has been developed
which has been also shared with the commissioners of the CQC (Charles et al., 2017). The
actions and the performance of the staff have been monitored on a monthly basis and defined
over the board of the performance (Charles et al., 2017).
There have been the five basic points in the trust which can help in improving the business of
the trust and the hospital by implementing the basic strategic methods such as:
Patient Flow: It focuses on defining the type of pathways and the process to be provided
to the patients such as the emergency treatment in case of the accident, emergency
surgery, site flow and the discharge facilities (Geissdoerfer et al., 2017).
Outpatients: It aims in providing the suitable process of the treatment to its patients
which cannot be present physically within the hospital. It deals with the implementation
of the development programs for the staffs and the patients (Geissdoerfer et al., 2017).
Theatres: It defined the effective utilization of the operation theatres in case of the
emergency, the King's hospital has been dealing with the efforts and the aims defined to
make the theatres available easily (Geissdoerfer et al., 2017).

The king’s academy: There has been the development of the successful educational
programs which can aim to serve its patients better in terms of using the technology in
an effective manner (Geissdoerfer et al., 2017).
King's way forwards: It aims to develop the culture of the hospital which serves to
provide the positive effect upon the health of the people as well as the children
(Geissdoerfer et al., 2017).
In order to improve the business, the triple bottom line has been used which includes the 3
main factors: people, planet and profit in terms of the economic, social and environmental
factors offering the sustainability in the trust:
People: There have been many facilities provided by the hospital to its patients such as
the outpatient management facility which helps its patient to easily manage the
treatment of his disease by referring to the provided link. For the King’s Hospital people
serves as an important asset, this aims in developing the best facilities for its patients
(Belz and Binder, 2017).
Planet: As in today's world there have been many issues related to the environment. In
such a situation, the King's Hospital focuses on the fact that there has been proper
disposal of the medical equipment such as the cotton, syringe etc. (Belz and Binder,
2017). The King’s hospital also deals with the use of the technology which doesn't
provide a harmful effect on the patients as well as the environment which serves the
hospital in gaining the sustainability in terms of the environment (Belz and Binder,
2017).
Profit: In the past few years the king’s college hospital has been able to generate the
huge profit by introducing the new facilities for their patient’s, treating their patients
with the new technological methods which provide the successful completion of the
treatment process by the good health of the patient, leading to the trust winning of the
patients in terms of the treatment and the services made available for the patients (Belz
and Binder, 2017).

Despite the above elements and the factors, the king’s college hospital has made the changes
in terms of the development and the technologies and has also established the new areas of
development by assuring the best services to its patients:
1. Acute Mental Health: In England, there was the time when the people were unable to
go to the hospitals even for their treatment, due to the unavailability of the required
amount (Belz and Binder, 2017). To abolish this effects the team named as The king’s
partners pathway homeless was made in the year 2012, which was increased in the year
2015 which give the medical services by establishing the medical housing around the
houses of the people (Belz and Binder, 2017). In the year 2017, 136 patients were
having improved housing status after discharge from the services.
2. Cancer: The new Cancer center was developed at Guy’s, was opened on 16 September
2016, the center provides the high quality of research, education and clinical care for

The center also provides psychological and holistic care in the Dimbledy care center,
which ensures the focus on the mind and body. The proper training has been also given
to the doctors of the next generation by the scientists and the specialists (Belz and

3. Cardiovascular: In the year 2016, a two-year project was developed to provide the
services for the heart patients, which introduced the services such as the early and exact
diagnosis, equitable access (Belz and Binder, 2017). In January 2017, the service named
as the integrated heart failure was launched by the major members of the trust in
Southwark and Lambeth, providing the primary care clinicians, specialist support and
the services (Belz and Binder, 2017). The service has started to work with colleagues
from Maudsley and South London, ensuring the availability of needs to the patients.
4. Child Health: The new MRI Techniques are being developed at Evelina London Children’s
Hospital, with the King's College London and the iFind project which serves beneficial in
determining the accurate 3D sounds of the fetal’s heart present within the womb (Belz
and Binder, 2017). The techniques have increased the number of patients within the
hospital.

5. Brain Attacks: In the recent years the king's hospital has set up the three major trauma
centers in London, within which the emergency department can treat the 120,000

the appropriate treatment. The Stroke Unit of the king’s college hospital was ranked

6. Liver Transplantation: The king's hospital serves to have the largest center for the liver

the academic laboratories have been defined by the king’s college hospital providing the
suitable and the fast treatment to its patients increasing the chances in terms of the fast

physical connections with the patients, the king's college hospital is also trying to make the
connections over the internet with the local, national and international patients (Harrison and
Prentice, 2018).

CONCLUSION
The king’s college hospital is recognized as the most famous hospital in London which is mainly
situated in the Denmark Hills. The hospital has been equipped with the set of various new
technologies dealing with the treatment of the diseases which help the patients to recover in a
faster mode (Morgenster et al., 2016). There have been many new techniques used in order to
deal with the diseases in a positive manner, such as the treatment provided to the patients
suffering from the cardiovascular problem, liver problem or the tumor problem, the hospital
has all the necessary tools and techniques available (Morgenster et al., 2016). The main aim of
the hospital is to spread its connection on the internet, by providing the facility of connecting
with the local, national and international patients. The hospital has been also serving the
people which are unable to manage the treatment of themselves due to the money issues, by
providing the treatment under the NHS Trust (Morgenster et al., 2016).
