Data analysis
This is the process to analyze the data and it uses the analytical and the logical reasoning to
examine the data. It is followed in several steps. Here in this, we will take the data of the
weather in which the temperature will only be notified (Friese, 2019).
Here Firstly, we have to fill the data of the temperature is shown in the city of Kingston The
data which is show is the 10 days of January.
Figure 1: Temperature table
Here the first part is completed, now there is time to present the data in the form of a chart.
The below chart is presented in the form of the column and the other one is in the form of the
line which represents the data of the temperature.

Figure 2: Column representation

The above graph is built in the column style which represents the temperature and the day of
the temperature. On the x-axis, the temperature is present whereas on the y-axis the date of
the temperature is present.
Figure 3: Line representation
The above graph shows the lie representation of the temperature and the day of the
temperature. On the x-axis, the temperature is present whereas on the y-axis the date of the
temperature is present (Aryal, 2019).
Now the calculation is to be done of the temperature,
1. Have a look at the Mean of the temperature.
Step No: 1
The values of the temperature have to be added or in another sum of the items or the values
have to be done.
Step No: 2
The sum has to be divided with the number of values present.
Sum of values: S
Number of values: V
Mean= S/V

Figure 4: Mean
Here the sum of the temperature is: 35
The values present in number are: 10
Mean of the temperature: 3.5
2. Have a look at the Median of the temperature
Step No: 1
The data has to be arranged in the ascending order.
Step No: 2
The numbers of values are increased by a unit
Step No: 3
The mid values is calculated by the formula
Mid Value = Upper value+ Lower value / 2
The median formula is
Median = (Item+ 1)/2
Arranging the data into ascending order: = -4,0,1,1,3,5,6,7,8,8
Total values: 10
Median= (10+1)/2 = 5.5

The mid values = 3, 5
Median = (3 + 5)/2 = 4
The temperature median is 4

3. Have a look at the Mode of the temperature
The mode will the one who will have the most occurred value in the data, therefore there is
no need to calculate the mode.
There the most occurred value is 8 or 1
4. Fourth, have a look at the Range of the temperature.
The calculation of the range is the high range of the value – a low range of the value
The Low range gives the minimum value by:
Min ( num1, num2…..)
The High range gives the minimum value by:
Max (num1, num2……)
High range: 8
Low range: -4
Range of the temperature: 12
5.The standard deviation of the temperature
Median = (3 + 5)/2 = 4
The temperature median is 4

5.The standard deviation of the temperature

The formula used:
Step no 1: Take out the mean
Step no 2: Values are subtracted from the squared mean.
Step no 3: Add values
Step No 4: Calculate the values
X is mean which is 3.5
The standard deviation: 3.97

Last part 4th part that is of linear forecasting
a. The calculation of the X has to be done. This is done with the help of forecast formula
to calculate the temperature of the coming days.
Step No. 1: Enter the number of values or the items
Step No. 2: Temperature * days
Step No. 3: Addition of temperature values and then squared it.
Step No. 4: Addition of values
M= (N ∑XY-∑X∑Y/N∑X2 – (∑X)2)
Where,
N= Number of values
X= Temperature
Y= Days
M = ( 10(173)-55(-150)/10(385)-55*55
M= 1730+8250/3850-3025
M= 9980/825
M=12.0969

B. The value of C can be 0 as it is considered as constant or can be calculated by the
formula
C= ∑Y-M∑X/N
C= 35-(12.09) 55/10
C= 35- 66.495
C= -31.495
C: The calculation of temperature is done with the day of January on 1st January and
the8th January by using the formula
= forecast(x, X known value, Y know value)
On day 1st January putting the values of c and m in the given equation Y = mx+c of forecast
1st January = 12.09 (1) + (-31.49)
= -19.4
8st January = 12.09 (8) + (-31.49)
= 65.23
