Introduction
In the coming pages of the essay, the project chosen for discussion is “The Kitchen
Renovation Project”. The project can be considered to be useful for the generation of best ideas
on the implementation of kitchen renovation plan (Brioso, 2015, pp.78). This particular kind of
project requires huge amount of planning in the design phase of the project. The project focus on
the fact that all the needs of the project and construction works are made in the project in
successful way.
The upcoming pages of the essay a brief description of the project that is kitchen
renovation. A list of experiences has been gained which will help in undertaking the project in
different way.
Discussion
Current Scenario
In the present scenario, the project chosen is “The kitchen Renovation Project”. By the
help of this project, I have gained huge amount of knowledge with respect to implementation
plan for kitchen renovation (Chaves et al., 2016, pp.29). This particular kind of project begins
with different kinds of planning in the design phase of the project. It also helps in understanding
the fact that needs of customer and construction work go in a successful way.
This particular Kitchen renovation project has been completed by making use of six basic
principles of project management like
Vision and Mission: For successful execution of this kitchen renovation project, each of
the project initiatives should begin and end in mind. It can be easily accomplished by taking

account of vision and mission of the project so that it becomes very much clear to each and every
one (Olechowski et al. 2016 pp.1575). With the help of clear vision and mission of the project,
proper outcome of this kitchen renovation project.
Business Objectives: The following step is all about focusing on two or three required
goals or objectives of the required project. It is mainly implemented so that it can increase the
overall sales and profit, employee productivity and lastly product and services.
Standard of Engagement: The frequency of meeting among the team members of this
project will be once in week. The team members will discuss the current the issues in the project
and mode of tackling it.
Intervention and Execution Strategy: It is considered to be one of the important phases
of the project with the help of gap analysis (Roseman and vom Brooke 2015 pp. 112). It helps in
determining the intervention solution of working. There is large number of quality management
concepts which can be used for carrying out root cause analysis.
Organization Alignment: For the proper success and sustainability of new initiative
process which has been brought about this kitchen renovation project. It can directly affect the
onboard of the project (Svejvig and Andersen 2015 pp.280). For achieving this, ongoing
communication should be employed in-person meeting of the project. It can be applied through
e-mail and e-learning which is obtained through training mode.
Measurement and Accountability: With the help of simple project scorecard, all the
required stakeholders to be engaged and proper updated. By the help of scorecard, a proper
resource can be used for holding both team and leaders. It is mainly needed sustainability of new

initiatives steps taken for the project (Conforto et al. 2016, pp.664). Accountability mainly tends
to highlight the fact that top performers need to be recognized and rewarded.
Personal Reflection
The project life cycle of kitchen renovation project mainly comprises of five process
groups (Cable and Cheung 2017). The required phases are planning group, execution group,
monitoring and control group and lastly project closing group.
Integration Management area: It is considered to be as one of the knowledge areas
which comes up with five processes. The process comprises of developing project charter,
project plan, directing and managing the project work (Varajão, Colomo-Palacios and Silva,
2017, pp.220). Both execution and controlling of project work of the project focus on
understanding the change control and closing phase of this kitchen renovation project. The main
goal of this integration management is all about understanding the knowledge areas for the
execution and delivery of this project. It is mainly needed for carrying the whole thing in
successful way.
Scope management knowledge area: This particular project management knowledge
areas come up with six phases. Four of which belongs to planning phase of the project. There is
huge amount of planning for this kitchen renovation project. The planning phase mainly focuses
on defining the scope of scope of kitchen renovation project and creating a proper WBS (Cheng,
Malik and Sorooshian, 2017, pp.478). Two the processes are all about understanding the
monitoring and controlling of the process group. It is considered to validation scope and control
which is required in the project. Scope management process focuses on control scope and

Schedule management knowledge area: It comprises seven steps for managing the
project inefficient way. Six of these areas are there in the planning phase of the Kitchen
renovation project. It is the only process which comes into action in both monitoring and proper
controlling of process group. The phases are schedule management, defining activities, sequence
of activities, developing schedule and lastly control of schedule (Olechowski et al. 2016,
pp.1567). The main notion of this kitchen renovation project is all about completing the given
project on time without any of variance.
Different steps in next project
From the gathered experiences of the project, I would like to make a very change like
implementing two new knowledge areas like resource management and communication
management areas for new project.
Resource Management areas: This particular project management area comes up with
four areas. It mainly comprises of two parts like building project team, managing the project
team (Brioso, 2015, pp.78). Resource management helps in proper management of the required
resources of this kitchen renovation project.
Communication Management area: This particular project management area comes up
with three areas that are planning phase, management of communication and monitoring and
controlling of it (Roseman and vom Brooke 2015, pp. 112). For successful competition of the
project, proper communication should be there both internally and externally.
