Problem summary
KlipTech is a flourishing business founded by Joel Klipper in 2000 that manufactures
products made from recycled materials. At present, the company produces a wide range of
products that translate ideas of innovation into reality. There is, at present, a need of
improving the products in order to utilise opportunities faced on a daily basis.
Background
Joel Klippert had always believed in the idea of integrating novice ideas into business.
In spite of lack of responses from the external stakeholder, he as an entrepreneur has had faith
in this vision. However, due to the evolving business market and globalisation in recent
times, there is a need of implementing strategies for business profits.
Analysis
Joel Klippert is a good manager apart from being a small business owner and has a
clear vision, mission and goal for this venture. He is also capable of planning the strategies
needed for fulfilling his objectives like the marketing of the eco-friendly product formed with
recycled materials. Basic management capabilities like organising, planning, and controlling
are to be present in an entrepreneur. I agree with Joel that there is a requirement to pay
himself after he has completed the payment of the employees and vendors. Suppliers,
Lenders and employees are to be paid first since this would lead to their high satisfaction
level, thereby positively influencing organisational productivity1.
Coming to the advantages that have helped KlipTech become successful as compared
to larger manufacturing firms in the building products industry, attention is to be given to
Joel’s dedication, perseverance, confidence and creativity. The green product manufactured

with the help of the composite of recycled material was exceptional and such uniqueness is
required for small businesses to flourish.
The competitive, global, economic and technological environments helped KlipTech
in becoming a successful business. There was no competition from other business that made a
green product from recycled material like KlipTech. Since all the products were made of
ecofriendly and recycled paper, minor changes could be made based on consumer
expectations. On the technological front, Klippert adopted innovation through making
composite of bamboo and recycled paper and dying them in colours. Due to the nature of the
products made, there was no need of high capital. However, due to new entrants and growth
of technology, the technological and competitive environments might be posing challenges in
future2.
Recommendations
Joel must adopt strategies that would align the business functioning with the dynamics
of the present-day business market. For addressing the competitive market, advanced
technology is to be used at the core of the manufacturing process of diverse products3.
