SUMMARY
Portfolio will discuss about various topics which are totally linked with academic and
professional development of students. It will provide a brief overview of module in which
various skills that is being required by students will be discussed. Skills includes, problem
solving, decision making, time management and self-management. Portfolio will also analyse
that how these skills can assist students in achieving their short term as well as long term goals
and objectives. Effective communication can assist students in making better relationship with
their teachers and peers. It will also allow them in solving various challenges that is being faced
by them during class room sessions. Time management skills has assisted students in competing
their task on time and even prioritising the task which is of utmost importance to them. This has
assisted them in increasing their productivity as well as efficiency. These skills when acquired by
students can help in growing and exceling out in their career.
Portfolio will also discuss about the benefits if learning logs. In learning Logs child’s
response to challenges are being recorded by teachers. Students can also seek these logs for
future assistance. Issues which are being faced by child can be explained to them by using
Learning Logs. Portfolio will also analyse various types of learners that includes visual learner,
auditory learner. Visual learner can learn things by viewing them. For increasing their learning,
they can go through images, pictures, graphs. By this way they can learn better and faster.
Auditory learner can learn by listening to various audios. In this teachers can also have engaged
in asking them with repetitive questions (Lui and Bonner, 2016). This enhances their ability to
learn and grow. Portfolio will also discuss about Reflection, that how reflecting on one’s values
and skills can assist students in analysing their strength and weakness. It creates self-awareness
among them by which children also know about the gaps on which they have to work upon.
Reflecting on individual’s skills can assist them in enhancing their academic grades and provides
them with a chance to explore various opportunities.
Portfolio will also analyse the various benefits of Personal development plan. By this plan
student knows about the skills in which they are lacking in. They set objectives with specific
time frame and engages in achieving it. It increases abilities of students to perform better.
Portfolio also presents about social and ethical consideration which needs to be followed by
students. In this learners must not be involved in doing any academic miss-conduct, as this will
lay negative impression in mind of teachers affecting student’s growth. Presentation skills also

must be needed to possess by students. They need to be confident while presenting a subject.
Students also needs to have good pronunciation skills. References are being used to show that
research conducted is authentic and reliable. It also presents that content used is not hypothetical.

Overview of the module:
Module describes about the various skills that is being required by students for better
academic grades and professional career. Skills which is necessary for overall growth of kids
includes communication, problem solving, self-management, time management. These attributes
can assist students in achieving their short as well as long term academic goals. It can also help
them in exploring various different opportunities in their career. They can improve their
performance after acquiring these skills and also techniques such as problem solving,
presentation, communication can enhance their lifelong learning. These skills are really
necessary for overall growth of a student (Kahwati and et.al., 2017). If kids find any gap in their
learning process, they can engage in making personal development. This plan can lay emphasis
upon objectives which needs to be achieved by students, it will also describe about resources that
will be required in order to reach out ultimate goals and objectives. It enhances student’s
efficiency.
Necessary skills for success:
The skills that are most essential for success of students includes problem solving, decision
making, communication, presentation, self-management and time management. Like for example
if students are self-managed, it can assist them in finishing their home and class work on time.
This can also enhance their grades and can lay positive impression on their teachers. Time
management skill when acquire by students assists them in prioritising the most important task
and finishing their work on timely basis (Ab Kadir, 2017). In this students also needs to be
critical thinker, so that they can analyse easily which work do they need to finish first. This
aspect can be beneficial for their growth. Students also must possess effective communication
skills, they need to have great command over both verbal and written communication. This can
enhance their confidence in front of their teachers and they can also increase their grades.
Presentation skills is also must for students. While presenting something, they need to make sure
that they have good pronunciation power.

Skills analysis and learning logs:
Analysis of skills basically means that students are able to collect information, analyse them,
find out the problem and come up with ultimate solutions. This can enhance productivity and
help students in gaining success. Also analysis of skills can help students in identifying skills
which they are lacking in (Azevedo and Duarte, 2018). By this, they can work upon those
techniques which they are lacking. Understanding problems and analysing the situation for
viable solutions is a key skill in every position at every level. Learning Logs are a personalized
learning resource for children. In the learning logs, the children record their responses to learning
challenges set by their teachers. Each log is a unique record of the child's thinking and learning.
Logs can assist students in enhancing their learning experience and assist them in achieving their
goals and objectives. Also the challenges that are being faced by them is reduced through these
logs. It assists in overall development of students. They can also use these logs in future, in order
to enhance their capability and skills.
Learning styles
There are four different type of learners. It includes visual learner, auditory learner,
reading/writing learner and kinaesthetic learners. Students who are visual learner can enhance
their learning by watching images, graphs, pictures related to coursework. These type of learners
by seeing the images can visualise the ideas, which teachers want to present. They can have
better understanding of concepts. Auditory learners are engaged in listening to the concepts that
are being taught by teachers rather than viewing it (Pittman and et.al., 2019). In this teachers in
order to improve learning of students can ask them questions again and again. Reading and
writing learners can enhance their learning while getting engaged in reading new type of books.
In this teacher can provide them with various books related to course in order to enhance their
process of growing. Kinaesthetic learners can only learn things by doing it.
Reflection:
Reflection means when students are aware about their own process of learning. They have
full idea about their skills, challenges which are being faced by them during studies. In this
students also needs to have knowledge about how to solve problems which they are currently
facing. They can get reflect upon techniques and lifelong learning process that students need to
possess for their growth.

Personal development plan:
This plan is being made by students in order to reflect upon their personal, professional and
academic skills. Personal development plan assists students in analysing about the skills in which
they are lacking. In this plan students can set short term as well as long term goals that needs to
be achieved by them. They can also engage in analysing resources which can be used by them in
order to reach ultimate goals (Yusoff and Selman, 2018). It assists in identifying knowledge and
competence required for development of students. Personal development plan is basically made
for self-improvement. It assists students in setting up their goals. By identifying skills which they
are lacking, this plan can help them on working upon it, so that their efficiency and productivity
increases in studies. It also makes students aware about all skills in which they are lacking in.
This plan can assist them in their growth. It can also improve academic grades of students.
Personal development plan can also help students in self-managing all their task which is
essential for their growth. By this they can also explore various opportunities.
Presenting with PowerPoint:
Microsoft has developed various tools like PowerPoint, word, Excel which can help students
in effectively manage their class and home assignment. In order to enhance grades, students must
possess good presentation skills (Kafyulilo, Fisser and Voogt, 2016). This can also help them in
laying positive impression in front of their teachers. During presenting something in class,
students must be confident and clear. They must be engage in putting those terms which is
understandable by audience. While presenting something, students must not hesitate as this can
lay negative impact on mind of viewers. Also students must make use of various pictures, graphs
and images in order to make presentation presentable. A good presenter also does not read from
notes and keeps an eye contact with their audience. This can make students look more
confidence that can directly improve their academic grades. It can enhance overall performance
of students and increase their skills and ability to perform tasks. If they are not good at
presenting something, students can also take help from their teachers or peers who can guide
them in making their presentation better. It is really essential for career growth of students. By
this they can also make good relationship with their teachers.
Understanding world of work:
Students needs to understand that in order to have a good career and get better academic
grades, they must be aware of fact that they will have to work hard. Working hard is the only

way that can help them in achieving their goals and objectives. Also in world of working
students must have effective academic and professional skills. They must have the ability to
communicate well and make better relationships with their seniors. Communication can also
assist them in solving various problems that can be face by them in world of professionals. Also
student’s neds to have pace with rapidly changing environment. They need to engage in
understanding the process of lifelong learning. Students also needs to understand that for
improving their skills, they can take help form their teachers and can also take learning or
coaching. They need to work hard towards improvement of their skills. Also students must be
engaged in analysing their strength and weakness so that they can work upon it. It will help them
in improving their academic grades. This aspect can also help them in gaining jobs and they can
also reach to those heights which they seek.
Social consideration:
Social consideration basically are the factors that can affect individual, groups and
communities (Linde, Caridha and Kunkler, 2017). Students needs to make sure that they are
engaged in doing those activities which are ethically right. They must not be engaged in doing
any academic miss conduct as this can lay negative impact on their career growth. Also they
need to be involved in making use of such resources that do not hamper any ones’ personal
values, thoughts or attitudes. This will help them in laying positive impression in front of their
teachers which is good for their future growth.
Ethical consideration
Ethical considerations are values and principles that needs to be followed by learners and
researchers. In this participants who are engaged in doing any type of research must not be
subject to any harm. Full consideration needs to be taken from participants before doing any type
of study.
Research and referencing:
References are basically done by researchers so that they provided content looks reliable and
authentic. Citations are being cited after the end of sentence. References contains name of
publishers and also the year of publishing it. If there are more than 3 authors, it is being cited
with and et.al., Research can be done by students on any relevant topic which is associated with
their study or assignments. Proper research must be conducted for in-depth study.
