The assignment is based on the system of knowledge management and how the workings are
done within the company. The elements of the knowledge management will be discussed in
this report such as brainstorming, nominal group technique, and consensus decision making.
The stages will be discussed down for the implementation of the system of knowledge
management. The frames are generated for the category of the horse, student, and pilot.

a. The brainstorming is the approach for the idea generation about the problems. It is
referred as the unstructured approach. All the solutions that are possible are equally
considered and given an equal amount of weight. The generation of the idea is
followed by the evaluation of the idea. The procedure for the brainstorming includes
the session of brainstorming. The problem is given to the experts to be considered and
the experts are prompted so that they can generate new ideas. The signs of
convergence are observed and the call for a consensus to reach the agreement. The
electronic brainstorming is the computer-aided approach which deals with the
multiple experts. In this approach the expert gains the leverage from anonymity. It
protects the experts that are shy in nature and also prevents the individual
commenting. The experts can provide opinions by the use of PCs and also they do not
have to wait for their turn. This approach of brainstorming initializes with the pre-
session that identifies the structures and the objectives of the agenda (Webb, 2017).
b. The nominal group technique provides the interface within the brainstorming and the
consensus. It is defined as the alternative approach to consensus technique. It
mitigates the process the losses the association with the multiple experts. This is the
technique that is time-consuming because it is the generation of ideas technique. In
this approach, all the experts have the chance for the expressing of ideas in the group.
It is considered as the more productive and efficient approach than the brainstorming
approach (Kianto, et. al., 2016). The impatience is promoted among the experts who
listen to the discussion. This approach is best suited at the times when the situations
are uncertain about the problems.
c. The consensus decision making follows the procedure of the brainstorming and it
ensures standardization and fairness. It clears all the agreements about the problem’s
best solution. It is time-consuming as it takes several hours and also a little tedious. It
can be a problem for most of the experts.

According to my thoughts and opinions, the serious requirements for the building of system
on the knowledge-based are the communication skills and analytical skills. This technology
has made us learned that these skills are easy to learn and also van be grasped by anyone. The
skills of the communication and analytical skills are very important for the developing
purpose and for the welfare of the organization. The person should be able to attract the
customer with the skills because this is a very important part. Therefore the second approach
is best which says that “Send me a talented generalist with well-developed interpersonal
skills or somewhat more delicately, ‘a user-friendly person’ and a rigorously analytical mind,
and we’ll team him or her with a competent knowledge developer.” This helps in the
successful management process of knowledge rather than the “Send me a well-developed
computer programmer or a programmer competent in several languages, and we’ll make him
or her into a successful knowledge developer.”

Stage 1: advocate and learn
This is the first stage in the developing of the system of knowledge management. In this,
various elements are used for the implementation of system of knowledge management. The
learning has to be considered for the management of knowledge and also the identification is
done of the focal points and the system’s team. In this stage, the factors are learned that help
in improving the knowledge in the company and the process advocates are identified.
Stage 2: Develop a strategy
This is defined as the second strategy of the process of knowledge management system. In
this stage, the process of the tasks is formed for the implementation of the process of the
pilots. The pilot’s assets are carefully selected with clear objectives and goals. After this, the
budget is selected and the resources are allocated to the pilots that can support them. The
resources that can support the pilots include the technologies of communication and
information, the hardware and software resources. These resources help the pilot to run and to
generate visible and tangible results (Hislop, et. al., 2018).
Stage 3: design and launch KM initiatives
This is the third stage of implementing the system of knowledge management. In this stage,
the tree actions are included. The first action is to get the funds for the project so that the
resources and knowledge on the same can be accessed. The second step includes the
methodologies for implementing the system by combining the resources and gained
knowledge. The last action is the designing and the launching of the initiatives of knowledge
management system. This helps in the capturing and collecting the records. The regular
meeting should be done so that the lessons can be learned and also provide a space where the
results can be shared. After the pilot project’s implementation, the results are assessed and
evaluated. This will follows one of below three paths provided.
The initiatives that are existed maintain the quo of status.
The efforts of Knowledge management expand to the inclusion of new initiatives.
The initiatives that are existed will be improved and enhanced further.

company. The first action includes the inserting and spreading of the knowledge in the model
of company. This action is necessary in order to get the support of CEO and the other senior
executives. The second action is the restoration of the budget and the structure of the
company. The third action is the monitoring and evaluation of the health process. The fourth
stage is the rewarding of the knowledge management system and the strategies of the same
are evaluated. The fifth action is the stabling of structure with the minimum control. The
sixth action includes the journey’s enduring.
