Response to question 1
Some of the prerequisites for implementation of the effective performance management
system are that of proper job roles and responsibilities, support of the owner and since the job
roles and there is also a need to formalize the job descriptions (Harbour, 2017). There also has to
be mutual trust and communication among the employees and the owner such that the
performance management system can easily be implemented in the company.

In order to achieve the same performance from the second shop as well, the jobs needs to
be carried out in the same way as in the first shop therefore formal job descriptions need to be
given to the same. The second shop should have new managers for carrying out the activities
properly and Kevin needs to describe him his job role and the new manger cannot carry out the
activities in the basis of his instincts. He needs to formalize all activities.

A performance plan is prepared with the aim to improve the performance of the
employees by removing any gaps in their performance. In determining the performance plans
certain factors needs to be considered such as the consequences of the plans on behavior,
ensuring consistency in performance, identifying the objectives of the company and various
other factors. In case of dry cleaners the performance plan will be to train the team, properly
communicating with them and others.

The two main result oriented performance standards for the employees are front counter
customer service that is on the basis of the feedbacks from the customers, rewards will be given
to employees. The second standard on the basis of which rewards can be given to them is that of
attendance. The teenagers have a tendency of spending their time on smartphones, socializing
and others by keeping attendance as a criteria the loss of time by the teenagers in these activities
can be reduced.

The two main behavior oriented performance standards are that of facial expressions or
the expressions that the clients greet the customers with and to deal with the public properly.

The main duty of the general duty managers is to work in the front counter to provide
customer services; they are required to perform the work of loading the laundry. The main duty
of the manager is to see that job description has been given to all the workers.
