AI Summary
This project plan outlines the redevelopment of Labuan Square, focusing on the construction of a two-story building and demolition of existing shops. The project scope encompasses demolition, construction, and associated design and planning, with a specified timeline of 300 working days and a budget of $2,250,000. The plan proposes the use of the waterfall model, detailing schedule estimation through a work breakdown structure and cost estimation by breaking down cost elements. Quality standards are emphasized, along with a communication plan for stakeholders, including managers, supervisors, and finance personnel. The plan also addresses potential risks, such as worker injuries and equipment malfunctions, and proposes mitigation strategies. The presentation concludes by highlighting the importance of the ten PMBOK knowledge areas in project management.

1PROJECT MANAGEMENT
Start of the Presentation
Hello everyone! I hope all of you are doing well. Today, I am going to present to you the
project plan for the redevelopment of Labuan square including very specific knowledge areas
that are specified by the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK).
Labuan Square Redevelopment Project
Let’s start with the background of the project that we will be focusing on in this
presentation. In this project, we need to construction a two storey building including various
specifications as well as demolish ten shops on the west of Labuan Square. As you can see, it is
quite understandable from these requirements that significant demolition and construction works
are necessary in the project along proper design and planning.
The main parameters for any project include three main boundaries – scope, time and
budget. For the redevelopment of Labuan square, the primary scope involves demolition of ten
shops and construction of a two storeyed building. The time allocated for the project is 300
working days and the allocated budget is $2,250,000.
Now, there are several methodologies using which we can execute our project. However,
I suggest we use the waterfall model since this is a construction based project and it will benefit
from the processes involved in the waterfall model.
The schedule for our project is estimated through the work breakdown structure method
in which we break down the project to work packages and schedule each of them separately. The

cost of the project is estimated by breaking down the various elements of cost including material
resources and human resources involved in the project.
We must ensure that for the Labuan square redevelopment project, there should be
specific quality standards set for the building that will be constructed on the property. If the
quality standards are not met, we will not accept the project and the contractor will have to
rework on the entire project.
Labuan square redevelopment project involves a number of stakeholders who will
perform specific duties throughout the entire project. In addition, the stakeholders must
communicate with each other regular intervals in order to ensure proper streamlining of
information from one stakeholder to another. The communication plan for our stakeholders in the
project is as below.
Stakeholder Reason Time Mode
Manager of project Guidance and approvals Weekly Email
Assistant Manager of
the Project

In addition to these stakeholders, a procurement manager must be assigned with proper
negotiation skills for purchasing material resources from vendor at the least possible price
without compromising with the qualities of the resources.
Finally, I would like to talk about a few risks in our project and how can they be
mitigated.
Major Risk Management Plan
Injuries to workers due to fall from height First aid camp near the construction site, protective
safety gears for the workers
Equipment malfunction Check working of equipment before purchase
Short circuits Installation of insulators
Budget overshoot Control expenditure and penalise any party if the
budget limit is exceeded for a particular work
package
Ending of the Presentation
In the end, I would like to say the ten knowledge areas of PMBOK are essential for any
project manager working on small, medium and large scale projects. Each of these knowledge
areas focuses on each parameter of the project and must be considered while developing a
project plan. With that said, I would like to thank every one of you for listening through my
presentation as I proceed to complete the presentation of the project plan.
