This report discusses the design and implementation of both Local Area Networks (LAN) and Wide Area Networks (WAN) for a company with six offices. It addresses the network administrator's need to establish effective internal and external communication between offices, considering a distance of 70 kilometers between them. The LAN design focuses on a multi-floor head office with three departments—general support, marketing, and sales—detailing the network infrastructure, including workstations, servers, switches, and routers, and the implementation of services like IIS, DNS, DHCP, and ADS. The WAN design explores MPLS technology for efficient traffic transfer, cost-effectiveness, and high data rates, outlining the required components like firewalls, switches, and routers. The report concludes with network diagrams illustrating both LAN and WAN configurations, emphasizing the use of fiber optic cables for WAN connections and addressing key aspects such as network addressing, error control, and flow control.
